He probably did, but direct ? he passed it backwards most times, and rarely drove at their defence.

Phil made himself more dangerous, but Phil is great on both sides, and his workrate is far better than Jack's, so that was nothing to do with Grealish imho.

I've no problem with Grealish as a player, when he's good he's good, but tonight wasn't one of those nights, hence Pep pulled him off after 62 minutes, clearly he wasn't happy, and nor was Pep, hence the debrief which the camera's showed, and then the obvious "sulk", so it wasn't so he can start on Saturday v Spurs, (happy to be quoted on Saturday if wrong).

Exactly this. Other than getting a goal or an assist I’m not sure what else is expected of him. Definite improvement in his attacking movement with the ball. Obviously he needs to keep improving, but I’m not sure why people need to criticise when his performance was obviously better than his recent ones.
 
Great result 4 goals away from home in the champions league, but in all fairness it's hard to judge especially the new defenders, as Sevilla were very poor

Still learning the position as a converted winger tbf
 
No nonsense performance , Sevilla had a good first ten minutes then we dominated completely we were at a totally different level the potential of this group of players is frightening , but the Champs is always a lottery a couple of bad decisions or a world class opposition striker can knock you out of the competition , you need a big slice of luck to win it.
Real were the best exmaple last year ourselves , Chelsea and the Dippers all outplayed them but they found a way to scrape through , Real were not even in the best four teams last year but won it
League titles are won by the best teams , with cups inferior teams can get lucky.

Tbh I'm not convinced it was a sulk.

It's a player in his first match back from injury, coming off the pitch and immediately getting treatment related to that injury. He looked upset, yeah, but it could have easily been due to pain or discomfort or worry.

Pep looked like he was reassuring him more than anything.

And if it was a sulk, if it's a player you like more you're probably praising his desire to stay on the pitch and contribute.

Personally I thought he had a pretty good first half but struggled a bit in the second. Just needs to take care of that ankle, get his fitness up and keep doing what Pep tells him to do.

One is an experienced international centre back with loads of champions league games under his belt. The other a young converted winger still learning how to be a full back. Slightly unfair comparison tbf

Still thought he played pretty well in the time he was on the pitch. I think he went off because he was just coming back from injury and probably isn't up to full fitness yet. I would expect that the plan was always for him to play 60 mins and ease him back in.
