Well we know what to expect , hopefully we have finally learnt how not to get caught out on the counter. A start for Phillips maybe?

Just got to watch that counter attack.

It still annoys me the first time Conte came to the Etihad with Chelsea, we dominated yet got done on the counter twice by Costa and Hazard if I recall.

Same team as the one in Seville for me, but with Alvarez in for Grealish. We are going to need his tenacity.

As I remember , the last time we played them one of ours gave them an advantage on the counter something about an offside trap and he fecked up , Son crossed across the box and a spurs player tapped it in, as i remember
Please correct me if I’m wrong about that

I always dread the match commentator informing us that so-and-so players has never scored in the PL or a CF hasn't scored in 10+ games. It's as though we just heard from the Oracle of Delphi!
Reminds me of Crystal Palace league cup in the 90s. They hadnt scored in about 8 games, then promptly rattled 4 in one half against us.

Ederson
Cancelo
Akanji
Dias
Ake
Rodri
De Bruyne
Bernardo Silva
Foden
Grealish
Haaland
That's the side I expect to see (rather than the one that I would pick).

I think the system is more important than the personnel in many ways and I just hope we see a return to a more traditional 4-3-3 and no inverted fullbacks.

I think he will pick Ake for LB to try and keep us more solid and for his height for set pieces? Akanji looks like a Pep CB as well and it will be a good test to see where he is at but he settled in extremely well alongside Ruben the other night and deserves his chance again.

They basically surrendered the midfield for the first half last night and only came out in an attacking sense in the second, something made easier by OM being reduced to ten men. Not an attractive team to watch but one well versed now in what they need to do.

Spurs as a team is designed to capitalize on City playing style, High press vs counter attack. Have we learnt the lessons? Are we going to play the same way depending on our strengths or we are going to adjust taking into consideration Spurs strengths and speed on counter attack?

They've been really poor in possession when pressed. Marseille swarmed them last night and they kept giving it away. We need to do what Chelsea did and just press the hell out of their defence and midfielders to not allow them to play out. Press them in their half and allow no opportunity for the ball in behind. Son has been shite so far this season but you just know he'll have a good game against us. Starving them of space is key and then dominating the ball and chances will come against their defence. Alvarez has to start this one for me, alongside Haaland.
