Well I think a day off will be granted for the funeral. Shit for self employed people like me but it’s not like it is a weekly event.
I am not a royalist at all but I have no issue with the postponement.

It’ll be a day of mourning though not a bank holiday as they’d then have to pay extra for the docs and nurses who will be going in to work regardless and they’re not self employed.

My plans for tomorrow are completely fucked! I've got two Spurs cousins who just called to tell me. They took the day off work & were literally leaving for Manchester, staying at mine & we were all going to the match tomorrow (albeit they're in the away end).

So what's everyone expected to do all weekend? Sit & watch Nicholas Witchell's morose fuckin face for hours on end? Mountain Bike, Netflix & Disney+ here I come! :-|

More seriously, I don't think they should have cancelled the games, and I feel bad for people inconvenienced. But it is what it is. As someone else said, this is a pretty seismic event in UK history and you cannot reasonably expect everything to just carry on as if nothing has happened.

There are many, many people that aren’t just merely “inconvenienced” by this moronic decision. This brings more financial hardship to those that rely upon football matches for their income, at a time when they are already stretched to the limit.

The decision to postpone all Premier League games yet cricket, golf, rugby, racing and other stuff going ahead doesn’t really add up.

since when have the suits at the Premier League given two shits about anything but money, and there in may be the answer. Games with no lucrative adverts in the commercial breaks and at the grounds, hmmmmmm that sounds a bit more like the real reason.

I'm gutted for her family, but why has everyone else gotta suffer because an elderly 96 year old lady in serious ill-health passed away? \0/
