Completely disagree with the decision, but hey ho, what are you going to do?
Who has?
Makes very little sense your post.
I would have thought that the top royalists would have planned for something that could be positive for British society. They surely knew this would happen someday soon.
(or maybe those top royalists are out of touch with the common man for some strange reason?)
Pros and Cons. despite how good Akanji and Gomez were the other night… would you have fancied a makeshift defence against Spurs forward line?Conte will be happy with this as we had an extra 24 hours to recover.
It been confirmed? :(Wolves definitely off mate..
Sure. I feel bad for them too. And like I said, I don't think they should have cancelled the games. I'm personally a bit pissed off about it, although my inconvenience is like 0.000001% that of other people, I am sure. There are many, many people that aren’t just merely “inconvenienced” by this moronic decision. This brings more financial hardship to those that rely upon football matches for their income, at a time when they are already stretched to the limit.
I very much doubt that any royalists have been involved in this decisionI would have thought that the top royalists would have planned for something that could be positive for British society. They surely knew this would happen someday soon.

Lots, actually. What relevance is Christian Eriksen to how a country respects the passing of its longest serving Monarch, in a 1200 year dynasty?
None, I think.
The Palace aren’t involved in the decision other than when the funeral is.I don't see anyone in control of this. That is the problem. The palace have left it wide open for people to do as they want but in the absence of anyone looking to keep a lid on it the nation is just grinding itself to a halt.
I didn't know that. By the way, I wasn't advocating postponement, I just thought it might happen. if the game had gone ahead we would have gone. And, the weekend after the death of the king, there was a full football fixture list played.
Cancelling all football for nine days didn't happen the last time the Monarch died in 1952. You can guarantee that the football authorities will always get their big judgement calls wrong. They are out of touch with mainstream football fans' opinions. The day of the funeral, or even the weekend before, would have been sensible.I’m hearing local carnivals also cancelled this weekend which effect local business & event organisers.
The establishment have missed a big opportunity. Let people celebrate the queens life not put life on hold & lose money in challenging times.
Forcing things like this only divide people more.
I don’t get the selective cancellations
Bullshit virtue signalling by the PLIt's insanity.
They’re governed by different authorities though.Lots, actually.
Those lads knew Eriksen. Some were his close friends. They trained and spoke with him every day, almost. They stood around him while he had defib units attached to him. They were then made to play on by UEFA, not knowing if he was alive or dead.
But out of a 'mark of respect' the entire English football calendar - from the Premier League right down to your local under-8s and under-9s teams - has been wiped out. Millions of peoples' weekends and lives put on hold, wages and work cancelled during a cost of living crisis.
Massively out of touch and not respectful at all.
Which makes the cancellation of Premier League games look even worse. They’re governed by different authorities though.
The Dortmund game will likely go ahead,
Yeh great attitude to have for things you disagree withwhat's the point in getting wound up about it?
the decision has been made, we have to deal with it.
Hastings ring any bells? The lineage from the Saxons to William I is a bit dubious, he wasn't called William the Bastard for nothing. The Windsors are descendants from Alfred the Great.
It wasn’t “just because they won a battle”.
Hmmm...now that I think about it, you are right. There was absolutely no external influence behind this decision.Well if he used his fucking eyes and brain he’d realise the only “establishment” that has cancelled football is the Premier League and FA.
The King and Government haven’t ordered anything shut and the government have said it’s up to individuals to decide how they mourn.
