Completely agree. But if her death closes parliament then it's going to postpone a few football games.
Why? Her role was closer to politics than it was to sport (apart from horse racing) so I don’t get that at all. We won’t be stopping going to work so why should we even think about stopping going to football?

I doubt there is a clause in international TV rights contracts about postponing games in case an old lady dies

It won’t have a big effect on most people, there’s no magnitude to it, one privileged monarch replaced by another. Charlie boy was still having an affair with Camilla when he married Di. His brother is a nonce and their Dad wasn’t the paragon of virtue. Love your family and friends but don’t waste your emotions on people of dubious reputation.
Do you actually believe what you are writing ?. We have never lost a ruling monarch so the people and country do not know how to react this is the biggest national even in my life time and I’m 52 . Can you name anything bigger ?

Fantastic woman gave her life to service.Had a dysfunctional family like most of us.However what do they want us to do sit indoors for 10 days. The pomp and ceromony no body does it better. When my grandparents died it was better that i had something to take my mind of it still feels strange my grandad not being at the match or at cricket.Life goes on and so should sport,Comedy and gigs maybe on the day of the funeral cancel things.I would to say to lots of the population she meant nothing and all these hangers on telling us how wonderful, she was we know that. 24 hr blanket coverage in this day and age is not needed.
RIP HRH back with her Phil now.

Games should be played, they are very much an occasion where huge members of the public can show their respect.

It's also an occasion where taking the knee would genuinely be appropriate.
Speaking as someone who is just over 5ft 6in tall & not a huge member of the public, can I still show respect?

Hate to break this to you, but I think getting your huge member out might not be interpreted as a show of respect.
