People who need time to mourn more, or feel they couldn’t make it through a game without dissolving into tears can simply stay home. They have a choice. When it’s a blanket ban because of some dictat that you can’t do both day is mourning by force.

Other sports went ahead and I haven’t read of any incidents of people being carted away overcome.
Professional or proscribed mourning isn’t on. It isn’t disrespectful to go to a game and if some think it is, who the fuck are they to tell me how I should feel and when? Utter bollocks.

And what about the countless people who had paid for travel and hotels to be told they can’t because some **** took that decision? Will the state reimburse them? If not, then why not?

The year is 2022 not 1622.

Not as many as you'd think, actually. Ric has a pretty laid back approach to the running of the forum. If we strictly applied the rules of the forum to the main thread re the death of HRH, there'd be dozens more posts deleted than there's been.

The country faces a terrible year of insane prices. And old people will die of choosing between freezing and eating, kids will go hungry. If they did what we all have to do and pay for their families funerals, then fair enough. If it costs £100m they can afford it, many won’t be able to pay for the basics and that to me is an absolute disgrace.

Can you imagine what the gas bill would be for Balmoral this winter? Maybe the prices have created their first victim.

Bottom line; money. This set of postponements will leave a lot of food suppliers etc (specially down in the lower EFL divisions) a lot of money. It'd be great if HM Government step in and offer to help them out. Though they'll probably say that it wasn't their call to cancel the games. Which would be poor of them.
