Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

Ok, let’s settle it, then. All those that aren’t that bothered about football being off this weekend (and perhaps next) donate the equivalent of 2 days full wages (one for each match day missed) to a fund used to compensate all those losing income because of the postponements.

Just asking for a mate, but would he get paid back when the rearranged fixture is played ? [emoji6]

Ever wondered how much the royal family cost the taxpayer? Accounts for the Sovereign Grant, which funds the Queen and her household's official expenses, released in June of 2022 show the monarchy cost the taxpayer £102.4m during 2021-22 – an increase of 17% from the previous financial year.

102 million?

That's the biggest load of crap going, I would imagine the security/travel bill would not even be covered by that
The sovereign grant is paid for out of income from the Crown Estate which is owned by the sovereign, not from taxation. Most of the Crown Estate income goes to the treasury.

If the games went ahead would the teams that are in tv wouldn’t of allowed advertising? Because the cricket wasn’t today..

Hard call that would have critics either way. Does seem odd that it took so long. All the talk about "Operation London bridge" it does seem as if the PL was caught flat footed. Did they not have plans in place?

So...in the absence of live football.....here is a kind of topical quiz question....

What record do Sunderland hold....that can never be bettered or equalled?
The only team to win one of the 2 ’major‘ trophies under every monarch since the FA was founded.
I suppose it depends on whether you win anything whilst Charles is king (and possibly William) as to whether it can be bettered, in part at least.

The only club to have sacked their manager (Malcolm Crosby) after 'losing' a game as judged by the Pools Panel

I'm in Aberdeen this weekend and was selfishly quite pleased when the spuds game was cancelled. In retrospect it's a total misjudgment of what people feel and the underlying feeling seems to have been that "fans" might have disrespected the silence. Wonder if they play in red and green/white hoops? Pathetic really.

Around the town centre saw some local vermin in stretford's unloveliest. I finally went up to one and laughed at him like a banshee!

Anyway we're all fucked off by the football, they're disappointed over........shinty being cancelled!

The only other thing I have to report is seeing plenty of attractive livestock on the 6 hour drive. Four legged if you're wondering:-)))

You can't beat a bit of bully!

The French earn an absolute fortune from people visiting their palaces. No King or Queen doesn't seem to bother them. The 19 billion a year seems dubious. What's the source for that?

Plenty of contrarian viewpoints that suggest they don't pay their way anywhere near as much as people suggest.

Are you seriously using a '. scot' domain as a serious impartial source?
