Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

It's not compulsory to close, it's down to individual businesses choice
Good luck with that one, there will be huge pressure for all business to close, I was put in that position with the Diana funeral, close or my business would be burnt down, I kid you not.

It is, read the rules, any business can open if they choose to, I guarantee your go locals and premier shops will be open, it is not compulsory
Generally owned by hard working Pakistanis or the likes and they will open regardless for 25 hours that day our local one opens Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Others have claimed it’s to save room for queuing to sign condolences book. Which is it?
Either way, I can’t see there would be any need to suspend a cycle rack.
Surely there’s some grass to lay flowers not a bike rack. Strange place to put flowers.
Clearly it's likely to be one or the other. I just saw a post from a local saying that, along with a link to the Council website which mentioned both those things.

It's quite common for cycle racks to be right at the front of buildings like that - I can think of a few where it would be the most obvious place next to the entrance - so not exactly strange. It's not like they were suspending weather forecasts or anything ;)

I can’t help but feel this out pouring of grief that is being projected around the world is part of a bigger thing.

We all know the royal family is part of ‘brand’ Great Britain. Let’s face it, people travel here to see Buckingham Palace and the idea of the Queen is an almost Disney like treasure to people.

I’m out the country for a week in Greece and the first thing that was mentioned to us on arrival at the hotel was the queen…

If Britain as a whole is not seen by the rest of the world to value the passing of such a figure with a mental outpouring of grief then it devalues the whole thing. If we don’t care then why should anybody else?

We’ve lost pretty much everything of our own identity thanks to the tory party / brexit over the last decade, and are largely an international laughing stock.

The Queen is / was one of the last part of this countries identity that remained intact.

For what it’s worth, i think the whole thing is laughably ridiculous, a hilarious sign of the times of morons trying to out ‘grieve’ one another publicly. Almost North Korea levels of mourning.

The more I think about the fa decision to postpone this weekend football the more it pisses me off.

The hardship this has caused business that relie on matchday trade. The people employed on a casual basis. The fans who have lost money on bus/train fares even plane fares !.

If this weekend games are moved to midweek than some fans will have the hassle of selling or cancelling their tickets. Knowing the fa it will be rearranged on a train strike !

The fa really dont understand the amount of people involved in matchdays.

I would like to know why the fa felt they had to be different to nearly every other sport. If its because they were worried about a minute silence not being observed, how dare they class all fans the same.

Why didnt the fa postponed the matches that they thought it might happen. Why postponed my local under 8' from even training. Its fucking ridicules.

I am really pissed off with this.
Ah but all those apparatchiks at the FA and PL will have had their name in the frame for Charlie's New Year's Honours list! They'd have been blacklisted if they had gone ahead and disrespected his beloved Mama Failing to get a gong next time, they will have their Summer holiday booked around a Buckingham Palace garden party

They wheeled Bernie Ecclestone out earlier to tell us he once got in a car driven by the queen.

Went to great lengths to tell us what an “excellent” driver she was and qualified his opinion by saying she “even indicated at all the right times”.

What an unbelievable human being.
Was it a getaway car?
