The Conservative Party

I dont think it's down to luck, he spotted an opertunity that in his words were glaringly obvious and made himself a nice little wedge. Sure he did very well shorting the brexit too. I wish I was a clever twat like Odey.
What if it’s not about understanding what will
Happen but how to make it happen?

The difference between Soros and Odey is that Soros spotted an opportunity and took it. Allegedly Odey was part of the decision making process due to his links with Kwarteng so he couldn’t lose.

They simply want a total unfettered free-market economy where we are just economic production drones to be moved about as they see fit to create maximum profits for the wealthy to stash in their offshore tax-fiddles.
Brexit was clearly the first stage for doing away with workers‘ rights and protections without interference from the meddling EU and this continues unabated, as does relaxation of tax and money laundering regs.
The ludicrous volume ‘Britannia unchained‘ and the opinions contained in it were a bit of a clue.
Got to learn something off Trump I suppose. Just a bit too much a bit too soon.

We need to get to November first. These tax cuts will be reversed by the weekend in all likelihood.

Which would only reinforce The City's belief the new people at the wheel know the square root of fuck all about running an economy.

If anything, it could tank the markets even further.

I guess we will need to suck up whatever is going to hit the fan in the immediate future, but we need to be heading toward a goal of recovering the economy, rather than completely destroying it.

They must have enough letters to have a vote of confidence in her.

That result would be brutal on her. She’d likely only get 2 votes.

I'm no economist but I think the problem was that the returns on long-term gilts (used to partly fund govt. borrowing) were such that government borrowing could become unsustainable because of the cost of meeting those returns, hence the BoE stepping in.
On pensions My understanding is that since good old Gordon changed the funding rules in pension schemes and Pension Trustees responsibilities were (rightly) severely tightened, funds have turned to Gilts as they are the safest bet even though returns have consistently declined. This has been done to protect the Trustees from any scrutiny and questions that they have taken risks with Fund monies.
This resulted in the death of many final salary schemes or the need for schemes to make Emergency top up funding plans or at worst declare insolvency and turn to the Pension Protection Fund for help. But all open or slumber final salary schemes still have liabilities and many are, I understand still wedded to Gilts. Drop in the value of Gilts means a drop in the value of a Fund and the fund has to react. The trigger is usually a revaluation which has to be done every few years. But when something as drastic as this Gilt drop occurs, Directors / Shareholders and Trustees have to react and sound warnings.

On an aside the State Pension Fund is not underwritten and exists in the belief that people paying tax will fund the liabilities as we move forward. That debt alone is astronomical and does not appear in any financial modelling by any government Party.

Did he also assist him with his asset management company and his brexit shorts. The man is one of the countrys top fund managers and your saying it's all down to the "Kwasi effect"

Are we supposed to ignore the last three years of your pro-Brexit comments after you changed from a Remainer to an ardent Brexiteer to demonstrate your unequivocal support for the fat fraud Johnson?

You probably need to re-evaluate your political outlook and you might discover it's not a good idea to support a political party like you support a football team, and not defend every shit decision they make whilst blaming someone else for any problems.
Still waiting for the trade deals he promised or the fact we held the upper hand in negotiations and the EU were going to back down
