Good that we didn’t go for a top LB. I think it’s time now to look for one next summer so Cancelo can finally move to the right.

Really weakens us for the Liverpool game, his pace is essential in that but our fixture list until the break is very kind and that game aside, we can cope without him until after the world cup. Long term, we cannot have just 3 fullbacks if one is showing signs of aging, walker used to play every game, now he's picking up injuries regularly, a top class fullback has to be on the cards for the summer.

Seems a strange injury, an abdominal one that required surgery. Anyone know the likely time frame?

Walkers injury away to Atletico was strange at the time too. No one seemed to know what it was or how long he'd be out for

We’ve got 6 more games in the league to get through without Walker before the World Cup break. Champions league qualification should be done and dusted after next with a couple of nothing games after that, then hopefully see him back and ready to go on Boxing Day.

I think the signs have been there over the past 12 months that he was on the decline......hopefully it isn't a steep one.I thought a top class Right Back was a necessity in the summer,but we obviously didn't go down that route.

Must admit I thought last season was possibly his best and saw no evidence of decline.
Thought he was excellent against Utd till he was injured.
Maybe not at his best in a couple of other matches where he went into midfield but if he regains full fitness I think he still has some time at the top.

Barring this months fixtures, I actually think it’s a positive for us. Not great for Kyle, but at least he gets time to get fully fit, maybe a few weeks holiday and back to us in December ready for the rest of the season.
