Think we were losing Sterling and Jesus - who both wanted to leave, having also sold Torres. Losing Mahrez on top of that would have had a big impact on the squad especially with not knowing how Alvarez or even Palmer will turn out long term. At the very least he’ll be a decent squad player for us which he seems happy to accept.

Just so people are aware, the handball rule changed this season so accidental handball in the lead up to a goal is allowed. VAR deemed the Mahrez handball deliberate! View attachment 57992

They don’t apply rules correctly, the refs. Human, so prone to mistake, and a lot of them…isn’t it all part of the game? It’s one of those nights, although very annoying
