Here's a thought........ loads of Brexiters back Johnson. Johnson can't get 100 MP's backing so isn't in the race - things go on and they get a new leader who maybe undoes some of the Brexit damage and leans towards the EU but the fact that Johnson who "got Brexit done" ( spoiler alert - he hasn't ) was blocked by the tofu eating Remainer wokerati means they can then stand back and let things get back to "normal" so some of the damage that has been done but at the same time have people to blame to assuage their conviction that Remainers blocked Brexit - you need to have a fucked up mind to believe that but it could suit quite a few
