Rishi Sunak

Thinking like a Tory bastard who needs to get the party back up in the polls I'd go full on for Starmer.

He could easily weaponise some party issues currently taking place that Sir Keir is sitting on.

Genuinely can’t remember their name but the irony was that they weren’t born in the UK and were more foreign the British born Rishi. Only difference was skin colour. Utterly abhorren.
You said you “won’t name their constituency” so you know which one it is?

You never know in politics, they have a year to sort this shit out or else it will be the landslides of all landslides.
For me a GE now will just me a major distraction and not what the country needs and the stuff that needs addressing will just get delayed further. Give the bloke a chance.
Bring it forward to sometime towards the back of next year but it will be chaos if it's held now.

A spell of dull consistent competence sounds good right now.

Can’t a lass from a Leeds comprehensive go to Oxford?

Look, if you want to convince yourself that she's a working class girl done good then go off. She grew up in a leafy Conservative suburb with a professor father and has being widely accused of misrepresenting her school by people locals and fellow alumini. She was the 29th British PM to have attended Oxford and Sunak is about to be the 30th.

Unfortunately I do see some logic in this, despite it being utterly abhorrent to give time to someone because their party (with him being a huge player in it) have been consistently fucking this country over.

No he wasn’t, that was when there were other candidates still in the race. When it went down to just the two of them, Truss had more endorsements.
It was never just the two of them. The final MPs vote had Sunak on 137, Truss on 113 and Mourdant on 105.

The top two then went to the membership, where Truss was always going to win.

As in when it went to the membership, more mps that supported the other candidates backed Truss than Sunak. She ended up with more endorsements.

That may well be because they knew she was more likely to win the membership vote, however the erg were always going to be more aligned to Truss so it’s reasonable to assume she’d have had more anyway.

Would be nice if everyone could stop focusing on his skin colour and start talking about his actual credentials.
Agree with the former, but your latter point, what are his credentials? A rhetorical question as I find it bewildering that someone with so little experience can become PM and a sad indictment of the state of our politics since 2010.

Ridiculous, he has no mandate and has ruled out a GE already
We no more democratic than China or Turkmenistan
I would not go that far.

To be honest I had more concern re the tory system where 'members' got a vote. A member is anyone in the world willing to send them £25. That is seriously wrong and needs looking at. At least with MPs deciding they were elected and that is all we ever get to vote on.

There should be some minimum standard on these things - being an eligible voter would be a start.
