I reckon Canada would have twatted this American side.
I had two friends round for the game, they don’t follow football but thought it would be nice with food and a few beers to get together for this. I was embarrassed at that performance I could only apologise haha!I’m not one for overreacting… but if I have to watch another minute of this tepid shite I’m going to commit ritual seppuku. The worst kind of dross. I’d rather we lose 10-0 every game while going for it than ever see that ever again.
“Pragmatic”
Fuck off, Waistcoat.
We might be through to the Round of 16 but I am now at a point where I genuinely hope we lose embarrassingly than win a tournament like this.
Nice guy. Shit manager. Stuart Pearce showed more endeavour than this turgid wanker.
How can you watch that and not put Foden on? How can you watch that and not just resign immediately?
Proper shit. Don’t care if we win the World Cup and the Euros eight times in a row. This is supposed to be entertainment. I’d rather have my nads held in a clamp for the next 4 weeks than watch any more.
Needs a “Bet in play, Naaa” poster somewhere.Ivan Toney’s house today

As another neutral (also a Yank) I couldn't agree with you more. It is truly a shame for our brothers across the pond, that with such a talented and yes overhyped, group of players like this, they should have such an uninspiring leader as Southgate. Nothing will be achieved under his leadership. The issue with Southgate is that the English national team has progressed beyond him. On the surface, the results (2018 WC - Semi Final, 2020 Euros - Runners up) are great. But in context, it's a bit disappointing.
As a neutral - throughout my life (I am 33 for reference), England has always been talented, but bit overhyped. Some wonderfully skilled individual players, but flawed teams that never really gelled or were a step below the top European and South American teams of the era.
That all changed around the 2018 World Cup. The current English team/generation of players is legitimately one of, if the most, talented and technically skilled sides in the world. We're just so used to England underperforming that the runs you've had in the past two tournaments have disguised that's what this side should be achieving with the players available.
Look how Luis Enrique had Spain humming the other day. England, on paper, is more talented than Spain. But under Southgate - they will never, ever play like that. Southgate has them playing uninspired and boring, and quite frankly, they're winning in spite of him.
#Flying?Q: How do you play 4-2-3-1 and get overrun in midfield?
A: Play Sterling, Mount & Saka as your 3 and play 2 DMs who can’t even make a triangle for the CBs to move the ball forward or track a runner!
It’s clear as day that Foden is either injured, has fucked Southgate’s wife/mother/daughter or has called him a **** at some point, because that game was crying out for Foden to replace Mount from about minute 10 forward!!
Southgate will class that as a “good tournament draw” as it will probably result in going through as #1 in the Group. However, that was the most boring, inept World Cup performances of a QUALITY England squad in a long time!
Bellingham didn’t come alive until the second half, when he started getting forward, but within minutes of starting to show something, he was hauled off….because what England REALLY needed was Henderson!!!
Tbf, he did a decent job when he came on and livened things up, but ffs?! How long do we have to be playing shit before Southgate “dares” inject some life into the team?
Boring as fuck, and now I have to navigate thunderstorms on the way home all night from São Paulo Brazil! UFB, because I was hoping the game was going to be my excitement for the day!!
Yep, this England team feels like the Belgium team of 4 years ago, an incredible group of players held back by a manager not at their level.Totally agree, we have the makings of a good team and I think we'd have a decent chance IF we had a decent manager.
Usain Bolt is Jamaican, just saying.I notice USA didn't pick Usain Bolt waistcoat you clueless bellend
None of them playing better for their clubs. As I have said previously, Sterling and Mount have been awful for Chelsea.Just to put it into perspective Southgate chose 5 forwards to play ahead of Foden today.
He could have stood in the middle of the centre circle twiddling his thumbs and still have been more productive than Mason "Drinkwater 2.0" MountCould have played wide instead of Saka or Sterling though.
Southgate is not starting (or bringing on, in yesterday’s case) the player in the England squad with the highest goal contributions in their domestic league this season, and who has the second highest goal total in their domestic league this season (behind Kane). And who has played False 9 many, many times, which is very similar to CAM/CM.None of them playing better for their clubs. As I have said previously, Sterling and Mount have been awful for Chelsea.
