2022 World Cup Discussion

Honestly why this obsession with players age in the commentary of the world Cup games.
I'm pretty sure that'll all footballers for ever have been young men.
Or have I missed something

Was reading reports about people wearing jackets and such inside the stadiums because the aircon is so cold. When we are in the middle of a climate crisis - stadiums being cooled in the middle of the desert to such an extent that people are cold, makes for grim reading tbh.

Was that article in the Daily Heil or The S*n? As both those papers seem to be churning out negative world cup articles, on a daily basis now.

Not seen any crowd shots of anyone wrapped up in a jacket or sweater.

The commentators have cracked jokes multiple times during games about it and I have a couple of mates out there.

Not read anything in the Sun or the Daily Mail to be honest and making references to the climate crisis is unlikely something either of those rags do.

it's the future, wipe global warming out at a stroke

All hatred aside, and crap international football...I thought Stones, Maguire and Luke Shaw played well tonight. I did not even realise Shaw was still playing football.

Just been watching the opening ceremony and thought it was really good . BBC are a fucking disgrace for not showing it .
The opening ceremony was moved earlier by the Qatari FA at short notice.

The BBC had committed to showing a WSL match before their World Cup coverage began at 3pm for a 4pm kick off.

It was available to watch on the iPlayer should you have wanted to watch it.

Were the BBC a disgrace for showing the WSL match they had already agreed to show, or should they have aborted the WSL game at half time to pander to the Qatari’s change of timings?

Are you a long standing viewer of opening ceremonies, or is it just this one that wasn’t shown that has provoked your ire?

Yes I agree. This is a very good idea. As a long established collector of opening ceremonies of major global sporting events as presented by national television broadcasters, I was particularly disappointed on this occasion. I have of course taken appropriate action on behalf of the many collectors such as myself, and sent a strongly worded letter to the lovely Ms Daheley (copy TD Davie). Enough is enough I say. Bring the boys back home.

Depends mate. Were either United or Liverpool playing? If so, get it canned.

That wasn't what Lineker said. He said the BBC never shows the OC for the WC, so they were entirely consistent. Someone is telling porkies.

Edit: and the change in date was three months ago apparently.

Arnold. Shaw
Rice. Or philipps

Saka. Foden. Grealish
