A rag from Coventry but made some top tunes

The Specials were a really great and significant band.
Fun Boy Three were a sort of more deadpan 80s pop , and all the better for it.
Colourfield deserved more credit, some great songs with perceptive lyrics.

‘Waiting’, the second Fun Boy Three album is one of my all-time favourites.

Was hoping for an autobiography from him too at some point.

yeah my mum was appalled by "ain't you heard of contraception " too lol - she loved all her grandkids by various men though ha ha ha ha - the song depicted modern life and what was happening

Next to The Jam, The Specials were my favourite group. Saw them in Manchester in 1980 and then again 2011. They were brilliant live and Terry was a fantastic frontman.

I love The Specials.

Sorry for laughing at you a Terry when you got coined at a gig in Leeds. You had been winding up the knuckle draggers by laughing at Leeds being in Division 2.

It was a top gig and I’m so happy The Specials didn’t walk off.

Absolutely loved The Specials when I was growing up and there's no doubt that Terry was a very talented musician.

Not wanting to derail the thread Tim but it has to be said that Terry brought some of that shit on himself at times. I saw The Specials at V Festival in 2009 and was shocked to hear him have a cheap dig at the Leeds fans who got stabbed to death in Istanbul - "Leeds fans - do one. Galatasaray fans - you lot are ok and can stay". Even Neville Staple pulled him up on it - "What the fuck's that about?" Thankfully, Terry shut up after that and got on with doing what he did best.
