Lad got put on the RW in the 2nd half and tortured Cucurella... till he got subbed.
 
In contrast to KDB, Bernardo's bottom level is still pretty good. Exceptional player for City who is not sufficiently appreciated by pundits and (non-City) fans in England. If one from KDB and Bernardo has to miss 3-4 months, Bernardo may be the bigger loss for us. KDB missed half of the games in 18/19, and we still got 98 pts and won the domestic treble. KDB is a legend, maybe the best midfielder the league has seen. Bernardo deserves more respect, though.
 
I thought there were signs he was back to his best yesterday. Complete control of what he was doing in possession. Looking to manipulate space and his run for the cut back to De Bruyne was class. How De Bruyne didn't even hit the target I'll never know! He chased everything and he had full control of the tempo of our play. A positive sign.

Whether he is world class is debatable, but still a very talented, skilful individual who deserves a chance to play in a role where we see the best of him. Unfortunately, because of his versatility we often don't see enough moments of pure genius like the Villa goal.

that is fine. he does have a knack of scoring great goals but generally his output in the attacking third is not good enough even if he plays well there. mahrez is a pure attacker that is why he scores or assist even if he is playing bad generally. as a attacker in a team like ours with only Haaland scoring we need the likes of mahrez to give his output. just looking good playing in the top end is not good enough.
 
Surprised at the criticism. He was working his ass off and just as he started to sink his teeth into the game on the wing, he got pulled. I disagree with those saying he's mentally checked out.
 
He seems a little too in love with the ball. It's fine to dictate the tempo of the game but you don't need 5 touches every time just to recycle possession. Has to play a lot quicker.

I think he steps up and takes responsibility for the team as the leader, by leading by example, when de Bruyne isn’t there.

That’s an underrated trait. Some players would just passively let others do that. Bernardo thinks, ‘the main man isn’t here, I need to be the main man’.

When de Bruyne is fit and on form, I think he’s the best midfielder, if not player, in the world. When de Bruyne is rested or injured, Bernardo steps up and becomes, certainly, the best midfielder in the Prem if not the world without Kev in the equation.

There isn’t a single player in the world who will improve City if they replaced Bernardo because the only better one already plays for us in Kev. I’d rather Bernardo signs an extension that him leave and we sign someone.

He likes to dictate the build up, and because he never loses the ball, its highly effective.

Dudes a fighter too, so many tackles won.

not true. the reason is simply tactics. when KDB is there pep moves bernardo to the left side. unlike yesterday in the absence of KDB he played on the right side deeper next to the CDM. it has nothing to do with KDB not playing good with bernardo but rather pep's tactics of how he uses bernardo.

First things first silva needs to either put a transfer request in or totally shut down these rumours about him going . Getting fed with hearing about him wanting to go home . Like I set if he is not happy the. He goes and we move on .
