The big problem for Foden is the hype that surrounds him.

Last 2 seasons he’s had a handful of good games.

Never will cut it as a midfielder in the prem, loses the ball too much and passing is piss poor

Unfortunately, Phil doesn't really appear to have improved since he was about 19.

Needs to kick on soon but not sure Pep knows how/ where to play him.

Exactly the opposite for me.. He needs a run in a constant position. Even tonight he played in 3 positions..

Couldn’t disagree more.. He wasn’t great tonight. But he was our best player tonight and was just about the only player trying..

Many many senior players were worse than him tonight..

We watched a different game. He was half arsed

If tonight is a true peek at how he’ll fair, through the middle, in years to come, I think some blues will be in for a real shock. He’s certainly not on Messi’s trajectory anymore, didn’t show any inkling of being able to lift the players around him and drag us though.

Granted it’s tough when the rest of the team play like that, but I hoped to see him dictating. Let’s hope it’s a funk he can get himself out of.

They were all bad tonight , but look at Phil's last few games , and apart from Chelsea on Sunday were i praised him highly in this player thread , he has been miles away from his true form

I think only Stones and Rodri have been good in any sort of consistency.
