Is this 2023, everybody on strike?
They must be turnstiles onto the old Scoreboard End ?
Our former Groundsman Stan Gibson ended up living in one of the houses you can see.
I saw this picture elsewhere and it claimed to be fans queueing for cup final tickets in 1955. We played Wolves at home a few weeks before Wembley.Going off that poster it's the cup game v Wolves 2-2 January 1952,Also the social club would have been built just past that building in the 60s.
Yeah I saw that as well, and the Wolves game advertised on the poster is a 6:30 kick off (City beat Wolves 3-0 on Wednesday April 20th 1955)I saw this picture elsewhere and it claimed to be fans queueing for cup final tickets in 1955. We played Wolves at home a few weeks before Wembley.
I would think a 6.30 pm KO would require floodlights (even in mid-April) ,and floodlights were first used at Maine Road in 1953.Yeah I saw that as well, and the Wolves game advertised on the poster is a 6:30 kick off (City beat Wolves 3-0 on Wednesday April 20th 1955)
Is that the same house/dwelling that became the offices of City In The Community, where Alex Williams was based ??Yep, he lived in the one on the right as you are looking at it.

Trying to get my bearings on that photo. If that's the roof of the school on Claremont Road in the background then my dads cousin used to live on Carlton Avenue which would be behind the church on that photo I think.
Magnificent photo Bladdered...many thanks for sharing!
Fuck me, imagine trying to get away early from that car park, and your car is parked smack bang in the middle of that lot. You ain't getting home until midnight !!!Not a brilliant picture, not sure when taken but you can see the church in the distance....
