A church at Maine Road? Well before my time.

Yeah I saw that as well, and the Wolves game advertised on the poster is a 6:30 kick off (City beat Wolves 3-0 on Wednesday April 20th 1955)
I would think a 6.30 pm KO would require floodlights (even in mid-April) ,and floodlights were first used at Maine Road in 1953.
So it looks like the 1955 date is correct.

Trying to get my bearings on that photo. If that's the roof of the school on Claremont Road in the background then my dads cousin used to live on Carlton Avenue which would be behind the church on that photo I think.

So the perimeter of the ground went from Stan Gibson's house?
Meaning the spot where the Pink Caravan was placed each week would have been behind the turnstiles - and to walk from the Main Stand to the Kippax you'd either have to go via dog shit alley behind Platt Lane or down to Claremont Road, turn right and onto Kippax Street?

Bloody hell, I sound like Eddie off Early Doors!
