What a fantastic second half performance, full of energy, intensity and great tempo. Mahrez was sublime tonight, he really inspired us and when he plays like that he is a joy to watch. Alvarez also deserves praise, he just never stops running and I think his energy rubs off on the team, he definitely needs to be playing more regularly in the team.
 
We weren’t bad in the first half but we were far from good. First goal brought the team and crowd alive. We needed both to win this.
 
First half, we were ok for most parts. Didn't create an awful lot, with the best chance from being direct. The defence struggled to play out and made some mistakes inviting pressure. We were also quite open. Then Ederson fucked it, twice.

Second half, much more direct, Lewis was supporting higher and they were taking more risks. Mahrez was excellent - having his fullback higher helped. Defensively, we were shite still - the left hand side was so open, needing only a couple of passes for Kulusevski to be running into the box.

Overall - no idea what this team is or what they are capable of but it was nice to get some shots on target & see the meatshield on the score sheet.

Oh and the officials were abysmal, again. Pens, no yellows for Davies etc. Shite
 
Phenomenal second half performance.

Hopefully in a few months we're looking back on tonight's game as the turning point in our season.
 
Just learned a lot re peps tactics re full backs from the panel on sky sports. Kind of makes sense what we are seeing this season. Hopefully we see it develop next season. Rico set to be a huge player for us

Yep, another Shearer except Shearer managed a few years at Blackburn to win the big one. His personal trophy cabinet should have been much fuller though as should Kane’s.

Took Balls to stick with his side for the second half 0-2 down.

I think if i had of been manager......at half time i would have kicked a Sink of the wall and lobbed it at one of them,and made 4 Subs.
