I was a regular ST holder from 93/94 onwards and I'm sure that it was when we ended up in the third tier (98/99) that extra measures were introduced because the size of the grounds we'd be visiting meant the allocations wouldn't even cover the amount of regular ST holders that wanted them.I don't think that's right mate.
For the last twenty years or so of Maine Road, we had five tiers of season ticket holder: you were a 1st year, 2nd year, 3r year, 4th year or a Regular. For away games with demand like that Wigan one which had enormous demand, tickets went down the tiers in order, usually a day for each. It was only when that was exhaused that they would sell to people with ticket stubs. That also happened for Wembley that year.
They added a year to make it 6 to become a regular in the latter days.I was a regular ST holder from 93/94 onwards and I'm sure that it was when we ended up in the third tier (98/99) that extra measures were introduced because the size of the grounds we'd be visiting meant the allocations wouldn't even cover the amount of regular ST holders that wanted them.
I don't remember it being just massive demand games they asked for ticket stubs, just that it varied how many ticket stubs were required according to the size of the allocation we'd received.
It was always a toss up between which was worse... standing in the middle of Moss Side in the pissing rain waiting for a ticket office that wasn't even going to open for another half a day... or the postal ballots, where they wouldn't accept away ticket stubs that had been stapled together - but then you'd have to spend half a day ripping the ends of your fingers to pieces removing the 576 staples they'd put through your tickets before posting them back.
Yeah remember watching City storm in.....cant find any footage now.
only footage I could find:
Fucking Wigan......
They must of listened to me complain on here. Got my 200 points will be alright for both nowYeah the failure to add the carabao cup points could mean I miss out on a forest ticket ( should be OK for arsenal) I've got 21,475. Just the 25 short of 21.5k which would guarantee me one :(
You want to pay an extra £4/£5 a game?Bring back the tokens from the back of the programmes
I watched it at Maine Road too and when all the blues were breaking in a massive cheer went up in the Kippax. They did though and there was footage once somewhere
BehaveSooner away tickets are on a open ballot to all season ticket holders the better.

Correct- season tickets should be grafted for. If this is part of the process then so be it. Same as those who hoard and only turn up 7 times a season should be held to account.
Still won’t get one. Then complain it’s rigged !!Sooner away tickets are on an open ballot to all season ticket holders the better.
I agree with 90% of your post, but what happens to the grafters' points when they eventually call it a day, and stop going to away games?I'll refer you to your post on Season Tickets.
Away tickets should be grafted for and those with 20,000 points plus have grafted to get to that level. Your ire should be at the club who siphon 60% of tickets off to Supporters club, corporates, dogs of those who work at club etc. etc. etc.
The Clubs don't need points.I agree with 90% of your post, but what happens to the grafters' points when they eventually call it a day, and stop going to away games?
After all, this system has been going for 20+ years and anyone in their mid 40s, and still active when we moved stadiums, will now be in their mid 60s, and maybe less keen to be treated like shit at Old Trafford.
I suspect that their points are also used by the Supporters Clubs
But still use themThe Clubs don't need points.
Does that include all of the allocation of away tickets to the players, staff, corporate and supporters clubs ?Sooner away tickets are on a open ballot to all season ticket holders the better.
Just wait until Gary Owen & Kevin Horlock are posting on here for a spare ticket !!!Does that include all of the allocation of away tickets to the players, staff, corporate and supporters clubs ?
