Is frenkie de Jong an actual option? He was available last summer but we didn't go for him

Ait Nouri is someone who we are looking for a long time. he just does not fit the way wolves play. but he will be perfect for us. he can play both inside with his passing quality or even stay out wide. will also not be costing a fortune

I could understand the argument "he just doesnt fit how they play" if he was playing for Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern or another club at a similar level like us. Not when he plays for a PL relegation candidate and has failed to be a nailed starter under 3 different managers. No matter how good he looks on YouTube. If/when he ever proves himself to be a star at Wolves and become the first name on their team sheet, he could be an alternative. But until then there is obviously no chance he would get regular starts in our team.

He would only ever come in on Gomez’s level, never a starter but a young player that might progress. But why would we spend 50m on that.

I completely agree with you.

I think we looked at him, spoke to Wolves about a deal and hopefully decided it’s just too much for someone not on that level

Barry was a great player

Lescott at the time was a very coverted centre half who got to play alongside and learn from Vinne

Delp didnt get into our midfield as he wasnt good enough..he got converted to right back

Milner was a bit art player and was taken along for the ride by the quality of the likes of David Silva...he left to get more time as he couldnt get into our team in the end

Just like Maddison will be around class

You can't single out Maddison & expect me to go with the above

All our English players have been very good players & pros but the management team & players around them made them all into top players who won major honours

Maddison is no different

Walker, Stones & even our Phil have grown into top class players but without the coaching & overseas players it wouldn't happen

Jude will be no different

Seeing reports about gundo thinking about signing a new deal, amazing servant and one of city’s best ever deals but we should be moving him on there nothing wrong in letting go of players as they are older. City are too loyal at times

That was years ago mate when we moved for him before his barca move.

I'll leave it at this, let's just hope Ake doesn't get hurt and is up for playing a good 25 matches from now 'til the end of May. And if not, Txiki can always go in for your pal Centurions to provide cover...

Injuries can happen to anyone at any time, you can't just stockpile players. If Ake gets injured then we play Laporte, if he gets injured we play Gomez and if he gets injured you play someone else.

Completely agree.. would offer him a contract extension and keep him at the club until retirement. I reckon he’d be very successful coaching the youth teams post-retirement.

It has to be. Kev, Gundo and Bernie have been magnificent for so long.

Our midfield going back to the Mancini days has always been the best in the country by far (Barry, Yaya, Nasri, Silva Fernandinho and a peak Gundogan and De Bruyne) they did not give the ball away and allowed us complete control.

This is what set us apart from the rest.

We are far from that at the moment....we get this right again and the defence and attack will fall into place

Similar situation to Fernandinho.I have no problem with Gundo being offered a contract extension (and accepting the new deal if he does still want to stick around) as he is still a useful player to have around, but we can't fully rely on him.
