I don’t think the club would ever sack him. Pep will leave whenever he thinks he can’t get the players to do what he wants them to do any more. And it seems like we are at that point. Or at the very least, extremely close to it.

I think he'll retire, take a sabbatical, whatever you want to call it, I agree he never will be (or should be) fired. But he's definitely got an eye on the door.

If anyone honestly thinks there will be better days after Pep is gone.. you're in for a rude awakening!
As always it depends who comes in.The king is dead and all that. Doubt we’ll go back to the 3rd division and might fluke a champions league.

It will be a mutual decision with the club for sure. Both sides know each other extremely well and the respect is too big from both sides to take it longer than necessarily. If Pep feels that he can revive the squad, he will surely get the go ahead, if not, I’m sure City are fine to let him leave as well.

he certainly keeps going out of his way bigging up rivals and their squads especially after a game we dont win.
this Spurs may go to Leeds next week, and probably lose for example...

Whether it was working or not, I don't recall a time where I couldn't see a distinct pattern in our play until now. He used to say he hates it when players keep possession just to keep the ball, there has to be a purpose. All I see at the minute is exactly what he hates, upto him to change that. Playing players in their best positions would be a good start.

Pep is the only manager we've had that has successfully managed to change systems to win leagues and when the league adjusted, change the system up again and won leagues again.

We saw it with Mancini and Pelegrini.. too 1 dimensional, would not adapt. And we're going through a change now, but the players have gotten old so it looks worse than it is!
That's a fucking stupid statement, so our success ends with pep? How did barca and Munich do after him again? Oh yeah. They were fine.. As we will be

We won’t get better than Pep.

We’ve been poor this season no doubt, but back him in the transfer window, get some bloody width, pace and fullbacks, offload those who don’t want to be here (Cancelo/Bernardo) and see how we get on next season.

If he gets the players in he wants, has a balanced squad and can’t get them singing to his tune next season like he has done previously, then I would start to question if the end is nigh.

But one bad season with our worst squad since season 1, after all the incredible ones and people think it’s time up? Not for me.

he needs to earn the trust of the players again. pretty sure fucking off Cancelo not a popular move with the latinos like Dias, Bernardo, Laporte etc.

while the tinkering with formations and tactics aint good either. instead of playing consistent best 11 we have all kind of crazy first elevens, where all of a sudden Foden, Bernardo, Walker were benched for weeks and lost any form they had before WC.

Lewis is a great talent who can be brought through but not this way thrown into the deep end when players around him so out of form and he needs to play in midfield which is not where he played most of games at EDS level. at points he looks out of his depth which is OK, as he is way too young with no experience at top level.
our tactics and general play went off a cliff. we are easier to play against, more and more teams found ways to restrict us.

long goone the dys when we were angry after a game we didnt win because we had 20 shot, 10 on target and scored none or only 1. we had bunch of those games with Kun, Sterling, Jesus and especially since Kun left and we said oh why we creating dozens of sitters for Jesus, Mahrez, Sterling to fluff it and a top striker would score 3 per game from these chances.

well look at us now, most of the games we dont win is because we hardly create chances, not having on target shots or only 1-2 per game is happening more and more often.

look at the derby, the ref cheated but apart from Grealish goal we had no other on target shot.
look at today, Lloris could have sit the game out still wouldnt have conceded.

teams worked Pep out, and our players form is also suffering due to it. we need invention, different things, different speed, we press lot less, imo Grealish, Mahrez, Haaland aint good pressers, certainly nowhere near as good as Foden, Sterling, Jesus were last year. then we need to be more hard in the midfield winning back possession but Gundo, KDB has no legs for that, Bernardo finally playing like he want to force a move soon.
then we have an error prone defence...

lot of issues around the team...

really hope we can go far in CL, but have a feeling that competition is about punishing mistakes and errors, and maybe even Leipzig will be able to trouble us if we are not careful enough.
and please dont draw Spurs next round in any case.

please dont draw Spurs or Liverpool next round if we get past RB

Our style of play now seems to be how we used to play when 3/4-0 up a few season ago.

Initially we used to blitz teams away and didn’t give them a second to think. I remember pep always praising Gabby as the best pressing forward in the world.

Now with haaland, Jack and mahrez they aren’t known for their harrying skills.

Now we seem to be ultra controlled and scared to death of giving away fast transitions.

We can't stop Pep trying to re-invent the wheel. My only concern for Pep this season is man-managment.

Pep still deserves his song on Sunday.

If he walks it will be on us fans too.

Pep deserves our support now more than ever.

He’s not really been backed with players that we need. Our entire back 4 are injured all the time.

Pep is clearly not happy with things behind the scenes & a few players need to go. I also think he needs a better assistant

Not been backed???

Same job as he does the other side? : / He's only played LB once, today!. He looked like a fish out of water and out of his comfort zone playing there. I'm not blaming Rico but he was running on fumes second half yet Pep decided not to sub him for Laporte.

He played LB frequently in the EDS, which is also when he started playing RB.

If he'd made his debut 6 months later than he did, he could easily have come though at LB and people would be outraged that Pep moved him to the right.

The truth is he's by trade a midfielder who can play either side as an inverted fullback because he's got very good reading of the game,is great on the ball and has the physical attributes to cover the ground.

In which world does Pep never get questioned?

And yet we give away more transitions than we did when playing the old way, whilst also having less control.

For the first time he needs to be questioned.

Team selection: Suck it up and put the best players on the pitch.

Personal Favourites: Akanji. Nowhere near good enough I dont care if he smiles at you every morning. Every fan from any club would have raised eyebrows when seeing Dias and Laporte on the bench.

Mystery exclusions: De Bruyne & Foden. No words really.

Lack of in game changes & Stubbornness : Did we ever look like scoring today ?
Fodens ill .
