A lot was made of that quote, particularly the friend thing, but wasn't he essentially saying "I sat down with one of my oldest friends, someone I won a CL with, and said "tell me everything". He swore to me this wasn't true. I believed him not as a football manager, but as a person I've know since the 90s. If he lied to me I'd have walked away and never spoken to him again". For Pep it wasn't about anything other than saying he trusts his friend.Hope he doesnt say what he said before about the club lying to him he will walk away

Well that is not news :-)DRIAFC SSIAFC
He's a knobhead but thought leader on these issues, so anything he says will trickle out to the wider public. Already has I think, I've seen that as a repeated talking point from fans who couldn't tell you the first thing or what we are charged with.
He’s only here for 2 more years and the case will likely rumble on for at least that long, so it’s completely irrelevant really.Hope he doesnt say what he said before about the club lying to him he will walk away
Ok, thanks. Yes, silly me - Etisalat paid the £30 million back of course - not the other way round. Head's a bit scrambled today! Have edited my post nowOther way around, ADUG advanced the Etisalat 2 monies to MCFC as there was a delay in getting the contract signed for some reason. Then Etisalat paid the amounts back to ADUG in full. Incidentally, this is the way the second contract between MCFC and Etisalat was structured: monies Etisalat > ADUG > MCFC. No idea why. I suppose we will find out. So to summarise: there was a valid contract (heads of agreement for a period until the actual contract was signed) for this sponsorship in place between MCFC and Etisalat, services were provided in full by MCFC to Etisalat, and all monies were received by MCFC from Etisalat (albeit through ADUG). Contract fulfilled. The only issue is the bookkeeping around how the payments were handled, there is no doubt that the income was properly recorded.
I think. :)
