PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

We're being "made an example of" and being "used to show the league is competent". It's not even a fucking surprise! Week in, week out we see the bias against City. Just look how every single game we have key decisions go against us. Follow any kind of media and you'll see they are out to get us. It hasn't been subtle for years.

Of course it's now being blown out of all proportion by the same authorities and same media. Seen too many rags and dippers creaming themselves that we'll be stripped of our titles and have them awarded to their own shite teams who weren't good enough to win them on the park.

It's all a load of ballocks, but it didn't just start yesterday - it's been happening for years. They don't want us to be good. They can't stop us on the park, so this is all they have left.

That kunt been saying ever since cas! “Oh it was timed barred” meaning if it wasn’t we would be done for it! Thing is City wanted to go further to prove it was untrue but the it got thrown out so early because of it being timed barred! Jordan hangs around with people who only wha to hurt our club of course he is going to have bias view he is a sheep like the rest!
I don’t mind Jordan until he speaks about city. He clearly doesn’t like us or our owners. Referred to us as a grotty mob when trying to buy Kane, that isn’t somebody who can talk impartially and balanced about us when he clearly lets person issues take over. As he speaks well the turds who listen to that station hang on his every word. Regardless of the truth

So, does this mean a third of the allegations are now affectively bull and void. *IF* Seluk maintains this stance?

Depends what evidence they have. He seemingly has not spoken to anyone involved in the investigation, so they've brought the charges based on other evidence.

I was thinking about the political angle this morning. Not only are City the only top six club that supports the introduction of an independent regulator but the model of ownership we have is a perfect blueprint, in terms of community investment and sound financial support, to use as a yardstick to measure up any future potential owners and their plans.

There is no way a truly independent regulator could look at the Glazer/US approach and conclude it is better for the club and/or football in general than ours. I think that is the battleground here and explains the apparent haste in yesterdays announcement.
I think there is truth in this. It is also the case that three of our Directors, including Khaldoon, were also involved in the £10bn external investment deal recently agreed between the UAE leadership and the UK government. It is not in the interests of the Government to put this relationship at risk.

Tv / media are now seeing it as a drama, dont get sucked in by it all. Plus you have other clubs loving the idea, wouldnt we all love to see liverpool / arsenal or rags booted out the league to give us a better chance.

The prem or FA always come down with a strong bold statement to back up their allegations, they arent going to say "eh city, we are going to try and have you, but to be honest if you take us to court after two years it will blow away" ! This will take ages to sort out once again, prem or FA are trying to lay down the law and put everybody in their place, set an example of what "could" happen.

It is an advantage to us to have around 100 rules we have broken. One of the things our very smart legal team will say is "ok, then you need to check all 37 other prem teams to see if of these 100 rules broken have they been broken by others" ?

So realistically the Fa or going to look at 37 clubs and check 100 rules on each They will tie themselves in knots.

Am i worried ? Am i fook.... The annual investigation.

I am not saying the statement itself would affect the outcome but the overall tone we set through the case is very important. We need to keep well away from all the personal bitterness which fuelled the UEFA case.
Agreed.

I have an attorney in the family. He always says something to the effect that the perceived moral high ground is absolutely invaluable in any sort of litigation. The whole process generally disfavors the side throwing off an aura of unpleasantness.

The consequences of a loss here are Rangers-esque or even worse. Can't be giving away anything in such an existential fight

The club not cooperating with investigation into the past 5 seasons is a bit concerning to be honest.

The only logical reason to cooperate with investigations into 2008-2017 (the period covered by the hack) and not cooperate over 2018-2023 is that the punishment and reputational damage for obstructing the investigation is better than what would be revealed if you did fully cooperate.
I find the whole not cooperating with the last 5 seasons odd. If for no other reason than we’ve had this cloud over us for much of that time, and if anything you would think our latest (last few seasons) accounts would be absolutely rock-solid?

Not necessarily. You co-operate over retrospective matters, you don't give the PL access to your ongoing business affairs. The charges relate to 2018 and before, not continuous and unprecedented oversight from that point onwards.

As ever with these things, the supporters are completely overlooked in all of this. The timing, clearly has a huge impact on the club, Pep and the players, but what about our fans?

It's getting in to the business end of the season, with a lot to play for and hopefully City will at the least push Arsenal close and do well in the cup competitions. But with this hanging over us, potentially the outcomes of these games are irrelevant, if we are stripped of titles/docked points/relegated/banned for life etc.

Whether City have done something wrong is one thing, but the fans certainly haven't. But we're just collateral damage that isn't given a second thought. Football is an incredible sport, but the way it is run is a disgrace and has been for a long time.
