How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Yes, we will have a vote, will you be voting this lot out?
Not sure how I can vote this lot out when the Tories get 60% of the vote in the constituency I live. Drives me mad when people talk about the democratic ability of the electorate to remove a government they aren’t happy with when governments are routinely formed by a party that gets less than 40% of the vote.

It’s an absolute fucking joke of a system, that we are even more exposed to now since we left the EU.

It sure is, mate. I’m assuming that you will be making a tactical vote in the hope that there are many like you. Then, hopefully, the rest of the country do the job for you.

I nearly always do, but can’t see the LibDems having a chance. Labour is a complete waste of time, got 11% at the last GE. Maybe if Zahawi stands again, a Martin Bell-type candidate might emerge, but I can’t see him seeking re-election given his wider business interests and his ruined reputation. Even then, he’d probably still win the seat, which underlines what a rotten system we have.

I hear that the government has paid a £2.3 billion fine to EU for lax customs checks, allowing Chinese imports into UK to be impossibly undervalued for import duty before being shipped to the rest of EU. News just slipped out before parliamentary recess. That’s enough for at least 3% for the nurses. Oh, and hundreds of millions of the fine was imposed as late payment penalties because ministers didn’t recognise any wrongdoing.

This was following a ruling by the ECJ.
Odd that we’re obligated to comply with the ruling of a court that has no jurisdiction over us (unless we want to continue trading with the EU). Taking back control??

I bet the Chinese gangs are really looking forwards to our freeports being established

By way of a reminder the fine we just paid £2.3bn - if the nurses pay demands were met in fill cost £1.6bn.......the latter is unaffordable we are told

As a person who lives outside the UK, I can say:

1. If you think that UK's economy is bad, you'd have to see how it's going in the rest of Europe.

2. European Union started to break down in the precise moment that UK left it.

3. Even with all the problems you have right now, UK still being the strongest European country.

And I swear you that all the big countries (Germany, France, etc) would kill for having the economy that UK have right now.

P. S. Sorry for my grammatical mistakes, I'm not native speaker.

This isn’t the joke thread.

I was born in Portugal and I'm living in Spain now. I've also been a couple of years studying in France.

The Portuguese biggest export is the Portuguese themselves :)

That’s a fair point of view. As people are generally poorer in Portugal. And I've never boys on the street trying to flog me umbrellas in our capital city.
