PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You would be surprised mate, the lengths I have seen people go to, in order to achieve a desired outcome.

Coleen Rooney posted fake info/stories on her Instagram account for nearly two years and kept quiet as the Sun ran with them.

No legals, no nothing.

All so she could narrow down the field and find out who had been stabbing her in the back.

I was impressed, admittedly!
You heard anything pal?

I’m sure these posts about us blackmailing the PL are done in good faith, but it’s playground nonsense.

Please tell me we don’t have to put up with 4 years of these type of fantasy posts.

And for those of us that can remember,, we heard similar crap about what secret info we had on LFC which also turned to be playground crap.

I'm 50 pages behind so someone might have answered this.

If not:

The relationship between City and the PL is essentially contractual. The regulations that govern our participation within that league are the terms of the contract. One of those terms is that in the event of an alleged breach of the rules the matter is referred to an independent panel, from which an appeal lies to a further panel.

We are said to be in breach of those terms. The fact that the terms themselves do not contain a limitation clause makes no difference, because the Limitation Act says that if you are alleging a breach of contract you must do it within six years.

So, there is a limitation period, and it is six years.

However.

The limitation act also says that if you are bringing a claim based on the fraud of the other party the limitation period does not start to run until you had knowledge of the fraud. So the six year period begins not with the date of the breaches, but the date those breaches became known to the PL - IF they were breaches brought about by fraud.

This means that the allegation of fraud is relevant in two ways. First, given that our accounts have been passed by an auditor, the PL have to allege fraud in order to make their case stick. Secondly, if they can't establish fraud, the limitation act means anything before February 2017 is time-barred.

They have charged us with something extremely serious. The consequences for City if the case succeeds are potentially devastating. The consequences for the PL if the charges fail is also potentially devastating.

Sorry, I wasn't being serious with my previous answer.

Yes, a couple of our legal eagles have made those very points, although I wasn't clear if the fraud angle will be reviewed first to determine whether there is enough evidence to pursue the serious charge. If there isn't, then the alleged breach is time-barred, of course.

Our les also pointed out that the serious nature of the allegation of fraud means that the evidence has to be more cogent than with a normal breach, which is then a more difficult level to achieve.

I think. It's all pretty complicated for a simple accountant like me.

And yes, you do need to catch up to the dirty dossier.

:) Not sure what to make of that.
The owner of that website helped provide City with info in 2012 that made PiGMOL remove Lee Mason from a match and moved Peter Walton to a "consultancy role in the MLS". As far as I'm aware he's a Blackpool fan who always had a soft spot for City.

I believe he also offered his services during the CAS farce.

I had no idea .....

If any shit came out on Walton it would literally make my year.
Completely bent when he officiated our matches on the past.

This thread has gone all CSI Manchester lol
It will get loopier as nothing happens and we get triggered by Nob Harris, Deloony etc talking shite from whichever Dipper or rag is leaking like a sieve to them private information.

I think our club is a few steps ahead from experience and will rat them out one way or another.

We had all this 3 years ago.

City were going to unload a mythical shit storm of material gathered on the cartel clubs.

Depending on the point of time, it was going to be timed to:

stop the UEFA investigation
derail Liverpool's title charge in January
blow things wide open during project restart in June
spoil their title celebrations in July
bring down UEFA entirely

Then the ban got overturned, all mentions of a super secret expose to uncover the villains behind the campaign against the club were forgotton, until another crisis point and suddenly it's back on the menu.

You must be able to see this is not real. It's wishful thinking packaged up perfectly to appeal to people on here. Not only is the club 100% innocent, it's going to be proven to everyone and all our enemies are going to be humiliated and their machinations revealed to the public! Too good to be true doesn't even begin to cover it.

It's always the same. Can't tell you any details. Or a date for when this might happen. Or who is involved...but you wait and see! Just keep waiting, any day now.

I completely understand the appeal, If we're sitting here in 10 days or 10 weeks time and it turns out it was real this time, and the "whistleblower of all whistleblowers" has brought down a conspiracy of everyone who looked at City the wrong way, then I'll be celebrating just as much as anyone. But come on, we can't keep falling for the same routine.

Edit - also don’t take this as an attack on the posters who come up with these things. I’m sure they aren’t setting out to wind people up, and I’d believe there was some element of truth at the beginning of the chain of Chinese whispers that just gets exaggerated until it’s beyond anything reasonably credible.

Make of this what you will, but I've just been privy to some startling information that would blow the lid off PGMOL and the power brokers at the Premier League, if it became public. It involves a recording of a conversation between the match day referee and VAR official at a recent away match, a recording that is now in the hands of City.

It's my firm belief that City have compiled a dossier so incendiary, that the Premier League will have no choice but to totally exonerate the Club of any wrongdoing. If they don't, this is going nuclear. Either way, we hold all the cards and this explains why we're so bullish about the eventual outcome. The Premier League are on the back foot, and in my opinion, are currently lobbying the membership as to how best to quietly end the process. I have also been advised that at least one of the "Nasty 9" has had board level discussions with City, distancing themselves from the others in the cabal.

Pep's press conference tells us all we need to know. Watch it again, look at the anger and barely controllable rage in the mans eyes. His attitude wasn't based upon him being reassured about some poxy finances & bullshit charges, it was because he KNOWS exactly what is coming.

Sit back and enjoy the ride Blues.
So if this is true which I doubt it is , we have resorted to blackmail? Not sure that is something we should be celebrating.

Also, Pgmol incriminating themselves wouldn't be the end of the world for the Premier League. They are seperate entities.

Much rather we wiped the floor with them in court based on our evidence and documents. Over the last few days I have grown increasingly optimistic that our money men knew what they were doing all along so have this under control

Is it wrong I’m enjoying all this?
It’ll make one hell of a box set.
Hope it doesn’t end disappointingly like The Sopranos ; )
