A lot of people talk about Bernarbia but he was only really effective in that promotion season- mainly due to his age admittedly. His partner in crime at the time Berkovic (who was preferred to him when we were back in the Premier League) was a fantastic footballer and never seems to get any recognition at all.

I don't think he's a "true blue" somehow. Thought he was a Blades fan growing up?
Sheffield Wednesday I believe, so would agree that he wasn't a 'true blue' as such. Nicky Weaver though, obviously has a strong attachment to us as he played such a big part in the back to back promotions under Joe Royle and was very popular with the City fans (remember his name being regularly sung at City matches)
Nicky Weaver's career never really 'kicked on' after that did it? Injuries played their part and maybe in truth he found his level below the top flight? Still one of my favourite ever City keepers (probably 2nd only to Joe Corrigan) He has said he gets a bit embarrassed looking back at his celebrations after the penalty save that won us the play off, personally I thought they were brilliant!!

Lot's of great shouts. But you have to have Yaya in there. Yes, he left Fern out to dry many, many times and yes he was a bit of a bellend with the cakegate saga and all that.

But as a footballer, what a player and a big game player at that. I've never seen anyone do what he could do. Not least scoring free kicks from 25 yards as easily as if they were penalties.

It's having the big game players that win yer stuff, and Yaya was certainly that. The goals that counted - semi against the rags, the goals at Newcastle, and when yer wanted one to start the flood it was invariably Yaya that would turn up. An absolute beast!

There's such a lot of great players over the years .
Corrigan/ Hart
Book/Zabba
Doyle/Kompany
Watson/Curle
Donachie/Clive Wilson
Summerbee/Kevin Debruyne
Kinky/ Colin the king

Francis Lee/Sergio
And because we're allowed 5 subs
Johnny Crossan/ Tommy Booth
Alan Oakes/ Glyn Pardoe
Gareth Barry/ Distin

It's really hard choosing players, especially because of the ones that have played such a big part since the takeover.
