Bournemouth (A) | Post Match Thread

Most of you are being blinded by the result imho.

I thought the performance was ok, nothing more.

However, we took our chances and that changes games and results.

Bournemouth we’re comically shit and will go down.

Thought Lewis had yet another really good game and his drifting into midfield suits Gundogan and gives him more licence to play higher up.

3 much needed points and really pleased to get back to winning ways.
I thought we played better v Forest.
But like you say it's about taking your chances.

Bang on
You’d have thought that given the opportunity to play 30 min against a demoralised team losing 4-0 would be a great platform to show his talent.
Instead he strolled about looking disinterested. He looked slow and generally not bothered.
Really want him to do well but I fear for his future at City if any more displays like that.
I am normally in the camp of giving players a season to settle, but something seems very off with him at the moment. It's very unlike Pep to not give a player minutes in the way he is doing.

Spot on,
we were never winning the forest game, Just one of them games when if you thought it was going to happen, it did
Yesterday game was a bigger test and the result was the main thing, even yesterday at 1.0 we sort of turned off, and they had a couple of chances, but once the 2nd and 3rd went in it was game over and game management by pep,

Rico Lewis is simply incredible. Palmer needs to step it up then wel have 3 top level academy players in the squad! The stuff of dreams.
I would agree, he gives us much more purpose going fwd when we have full controll of the game

Where he comes unstuck for me is maybe PSG, Real Madrid even Arsenal when we start to lose control & pace becomes a problem

Arsenal FA Cup prime example the game just flown by Ricko & Walker came on & changed the game back in our favour

Walkers days are coming to an end after 1 more year, Rico will be picked more often imo, the kid has so much ability espeacialy supporting & playing with the ball, he also links in around the edges so much better than Walker, for a young lad he's incredible

If Sheff UTD get promoted I expect them to go for Walker?

A good but not great performance. I actually thought we played better and created more vs Forest but we were much more clinical today and had the bit of luck at times that we didn't get last week.

I think a front 4 of Grealish, Fodeen, Haaland and Alvarez has some potential.
It enables us to get more in the box, which didn't happen against Forest.

Tinhat on, but never got what people see in Palmer.
Never been over impressed by his performances.
Rico Lewis, on the other hand, wonderful player with a huge heart.

Philips got booked for his first mistimed tackle, as only City players tend to do. And Solanke the big Wankee play acting to get him sent off was disgraceful, clearly no contact so VAR should card him for cheating.
That was a "home" booking. You should only get a yellow if advantage is played if it was a "reckless" challenge. That was just an attempted trip.

pretty sure this law was introduced this season and I couldn’t understand the booking. Another example of us being reffed differently

I disagree. I think Palmer makes some brilliant moves and some of his attacking play is excellent, incisive, fast…..but he does need to learn to pass in those positions instead of trying to score.

I think you might be a little harsh there, a few days after Leipzig with minimal changes we won comfortably away. Bournemouth aren’t great but unlike a lot of teams really had a go at us but as a result we weren’t playing our usual back 10. We created chances and we’re in total control until the subs arrived.

We’re still not at our best but the performances of late have been better. If we keep going on this trajectory we should be there or thereabouts this season.

Where was our left back for the Bournemouth goal? He was nowhere to be seen!
I think it was supposed to Gomez at the time, although I'm not sure as the left back changes every game, and even during games.

He was playing in midfield for some weird reason
