Be interesting to see what we do but this cycle is probably coming to an end. Fortunately we have the best coach and he needs to leave us in a strong position before he goes. Huge couple of years. The key to KDB extending his useful career at elite level football is for him to retire from international football & be limited to one full game & a sub appearance per week.
We need to manage our talisman carefully, but would KDB accept such a diminished role at Manchester City?
It all depends on how Kev sees it. Would he rather reduced game time, but still be involved in elite level football, or does he want to be a regular starter so would therefore want a move for that reason?
I suppose we'll all find out soon enough. As you correctly say, this summer & next are gonna be fuckin massive. City, Arsenal, ManUre, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs & Newcastle can't all play in the CL, & the opposition aren't standing still either.
We have to make squad changes in preparation for departures, rather than relying on 4-5 new players hitting the ground running, after releasing 4-5 seasoned players. I think the amount of changes we made last summer has also contributed to an unpredictable City this season.
Look at Grealish now in comparison to 12 months ago? Think back to Rodri & Cancelo's woes when they first joined? We know it takes a couple of seasons for players to get used to the Guardiola way, which is why I'd prefer replacements for Gundog, KDB, Walker & Mahrez be brought in whilst they're still here. This way they can learn from the best & have a season to bed in.
He was the master, but the reason Spain went out of the WC was because they played an over the hill Busquets in MF and Rodri in defence, Rodri in MF and Busquets on the bench different gravy....The shithousery was magnificent and how much did Haaland enjoy it,great to see lads.
As for today, how fucking good was Rodri, I love players that make the game look simple and he does, he has this knack of being in the right place, he uses the ball simply, he rarely loses a tackle and is always available to pass too and when he receives the pass he knows where it is going before he receives it,
Pep worked with the master of that Position, Busquets, one of the best players I have ever seen, Rodri has all his Busquets qualities and more. What a player he is, there is nobody better in the world at what he does, he is that good.
It's Gundo's finishing that's letting him down at the moment, he couldn't hit a barn door from two yards.I thought Gundo had a good game to be fair. kev is struggling at the moment though.
Even the very top players are allowed to run at 60/70% once in a blue moon.Just think that, for whatever reason, Kev has lost his radar. Bring it back soon lad we need it!
Cricket Blue, the best way I can describe it is like when Australia bowled underarm. What is shithousery?
Keep hearing it mentioned and I've no idea what it is.
Really don't agree, de Bruyne often tries an ambitious pass, rhodri generally links play and intercepts and nudges play along. De Bruyne s run made the gap for fodens goalKev has lost his confidence, which I never thought could happen. You can see it in his eyes.
Saw the handshake with Tindall....it didn't look too friendly...not much eye contact from Pep....was it him who once complained when someone once did it to him I could be wrong .Tyndall was a pain on the sideline.Quick to Moan when any City player was taking his time .ETH was right about Newcastle last week.....HorribleSorry if you were already corrected, but Tindall actually shook hands with Pep just before Howe did. Regarding the glare, he was probably just listening in on their conversation.
I was watching the game back as I missed it live.
Akanji couldn't pass a stool, sadly.Akanji all over the shop, bailed out by Dias and Ake.
Foden and Grealish great.
De Bruyne and Gundo not.
Rodders looks knackered and Eddie distribution was shit.
Good first half from us, terrible 15 minutes in the second, in control for the remainder.
Extraordinary !Absolutely amazed City won today, might be me but according to motd we played 1970 Brazil......and Arsenal were Holland 1978
Shite
Kevin de Jamie Pollock?Kev at the minute reminds me of Robocop when his targeting system is off. We just need Murphy to come and recalibrate him so he can go fuck up Clarence Boddicker!
Extraordinary !
Arsenal went two nil down at home to possibly the weakest team in the league and dug themselves out of it in the dying seconds. Well done, but it’s a game I expected them to win 5 or 6 without breaking sweat.
We beat one of the strongest teams in the league without actually playing very well.
It‘s a mystery innit?!?
