I assume that MOTD is the most watched football highlights show.
No studio, so no looking in depth at major incidents when we have Swarbrick on VAR!

That maybe the long term strategy, mate. This instance is all about the here and now, and no way could the government let Lineker upset all those that were supporting their policy on alienating refugees.

They had to show a strong hand as their lies could have been exposed to them that couldn’t see it and a man with many followers can make a real impact, especially one that is so ’Liked’.

The question is, has this backfired by suspending him and it will now also impact them more now that they’ve fucked up this weekend’s national pastime.

I see that Linekers salary is something people are angry about. I agree it's a ridiculous amount.

However it's what the market rate is. Sky/BT/NBC/ESPN etc pay their presenters these rates. Since MOTD is one of the channels highest rated shows anyone fronting the show would ask for similar amounts, so the BBC just matches it.
