Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
I didn't know until today that Lee Dixon's dad Roy, was a reserve keeper at City.
Didn't play for the first team and looking at this photo there is no doubting he is Lee's dad!
Left the game and set up a very successful sauce / spice company based in Sharston with Lee's older brother.
Family of Blues.

I like him. He co-commentates every week on NBC games and regularly mentions he went to both 1981 Cup Finals as a City fan.
Also a rare breed on TV in not being a rag / red scouse sycophant.

Anyway - the threads about his dad!

I’d be bitter too if my boyhood club released me as a schoolboy, despite the fact I was talented enough to go on and have a professional career.
Or maybe the bitterness is the fact he still needs to work for a living because he played at the very top level just before they were payed a king’s ransom per week.

I did an interview with Ron for the MCFC match programme a few years back. A lovely man and he gave me some of the spices when I left too.

Given that he won 4 titles, 3 FA cups and a Cup Winners Cup instead of being relegated a bunch of times as a result, he should be grateful.
