It was nothing more than a decent ball into the box that took a bounce and curled into the net.The goal should not have stood as 2 attacking players were in off side positions and made a clear and obvious effort to connect with the ball.

Doyle got booked but had a good game though,he was subbed late on.

Exactly!

Too bad nobody, not even the match officials, have a fucking clue what is and is not offside anymore!

Keeper saves EASILY if none of the players in an offside position try to play the ball!

And, now that you’ve got me started, let’s mention that Bullshit, too…”in an offside position” versus “offside”!

I’d love to see a team place a player about a yard or two in front of the keeper on every free kick (in an offside position), but look disinterested and not even attempt to play the ball (not offside?).

Offside or not??? Who the fuck knows??

Tommy Glyn Doyle has been pretty involved since his injury lay off. Good to see. He's only 21 and played for HSV, Cardiff, SUFC and City. Seems to be rising up the England ranks too. Seems solid, but how is his creativity? Is it improving?

Phillips will probably get another season and maybe he’ll come good - he’s had a nightmare start with the shoulder injury.

If he doesn’t come good though - and frankly if he’s not excellent- then Doyle should be there waiting in the wings.

The problem is Sheffield United can only have 1 of Doyle or McAtee on loan next season so either we sell with a buyback or one of them needs to find another loan destination.

Pep spoke about how he was struggling learning a new position when he was last here, because he’s not naturally a #6, and he’s playing quite high up for Sheffield United. Maybe he needs to go somewhere to play that #6 position at a good level if he’s got a future at City because the competition at #8 is insane and only going to get harder with Bellingham being targeted.
