Been quite a few times when not stopping in Manc. Really like the place and perfect for peak district villages and Disney Park etc very good restaurants and bars there
Hebden is a great gaff but absolutely shite for accommodation thoughHebden is good - see if you can get a hotel in Todmorden or Sowerby Bridge on the same train line
The bird in hand ?What’s the name of the mock tudor-looking pub between the crown court and the station? Had a memorable afternoon in there years ago celebrating a ‘not guilty’ verdict, ended up drinking and having a laugh with my brief and a couple of good time Dorises from the jury
That’s the one! All the barristers and court staff drink in there. Was decent food as wellThe bird in hand ?
Nice place. Matlock Bath isn’t far away and is also pretty nice if the weather is good as wellI liked Buxton when I was there earlier this year.
And they have a open air public swimming poolHathersage is really nice. Decent boozers/walks and places to eat
I’m a court clerk and can’t get over that episode of Peep Show where Jeremy starts an affair with the defendant whilst on jury service. That’s the one! All the barristers and court staff drink in there. Was decent food as well
