Foden back in training / on the plane to Munich

Heard someone on 5Live say Foden's chances of being a starter for England have been hindered because he's only ever played for Guardiola! He's only used to playing one way!

Seriously do they listen to themselves?????
Yeah playing regularly for one of the greatest managers ever has hampered his England career.

If only Pep was more like Southgate?????????????????

I certainly think his poor run of form after the last international break had something to do with the England set up, if not Southgate directly.
I meant the operation he required rather then his form and treatment by Southgate. Although, Southgate has handled him atrociously.

All fine and dandy for an office worker - what about a professional athlete?
Had a burst appendicitis at about 12. Just got into school football team and was told no sport or activity for 6 weeks. Pre dated keyhole surgery and had 2 cuts - 1 to take it out and 1 to drain off the gunk. Prevented me from going on and having top flight career (or thats what I tell the kids) but was fine by the end of the 6 week period. Son had the same without the burst and with keyhole surgery was off work (physical job) for 3 weeks but he was fine after 2 (got an extra week sick note and used it). Think its down to individual and how well he retains his fitness but no more than 4 weeks at most.

The problem is that you cannot eat well after this for at least a week... I had a roommate done a key hole one years ago and I remembered learn to cook soft food for him... Lost 15pounds in 2 weeks.

Alex Albon the F1 driver burst his appendix last year and was back driving within 3 weeks
did he have a 6' 6" defender in the car with him kicking fuck out of him, kneeing him in the back, elbowing him in the ribs and generally kicking the shit out of him for 90 mins

I think it stores bacteria. Your body needs them to stay healthy. My mate is a nut job on health hecwas telling about them. They release bacteria into the body to boost and fight off bad bacteria.
It’s the most pointless body part.Comes in handy if you eat grass apparently but that’s about it

They weren't saying that with any youth players that came through under the GPC.

Rub some sudocreame on it he'll be reet
I wonder if they have been aware of this for awhile possibly a “grumbling appendix” and an operation was planned for the summer, remember he was ill the night before the spuds game might be unconnected though?
Bottle of lucazade and straight to bed

This varies a lot from person to person. I’ve had many many surgeries on my digestive system including appendix out and it has varied substantially even between surgeries for me. The anaesthetic itself impacts appetite but also your gut has to reset because (as my surgeon used to say) if you so much as look at it the wrong way it will seize up, they’ve gotten much better at managing this recently though.

In about 2003 I had a major surgery that I reacted badly to and I couldn’t eat for 28 days, lost about 30% of my body weight.

I then had another one of similar complexity in 2010 and I was absolutely fine and eating normally within a couple of days. Didn’t lose any weight at all.

Appendectomies are fairly routine these days providing there’s no sepsis and it doesn’t burst. I would imagine he could be in and out and eating fairly normally within the week (maybe with some nutritional adjustments). He is under the best care available so I’d be shocked if this ruled him out for more than a few weeks.

Now let's get this right.
A couple of days in hospital.
A couple of weeks to recover from the op.
A further week to fully recover from the effects of the hospital food.
So about 3 - 4 weeks total.

;- )

I've had, and performed, similar surgery. I reckon he will be comfortable enough to play in 3-4 weeks. The problem will be the drop off in fitness that comes from sitting around for 3-4 weeks.
