Devastating news for Phil and City but it may have been a background niggle so best sorted before it became serious.

In the past it was 4-6 weeks out. With modern surgery it should be much less. You can never be sure.

Don't think he will make either of the champions league matches for a start, hope all goes well all the best Phil!

Terrible timing for everyone, he's just back in form and a host of big games up and coming.

Get well soon, Alex Albon the F1 driver had similar and indeed had a very serious relapse after the op but was back in a GP within 3 weeks.

That said Bernardo did a very good job against Leipzig with his pressing and Julian in midfield.

So we definitely have options. THINK POSITIVE guys.

Yes do them key hole these days so loads quicker Used to cut through muscles which took 6 weeks or so to heal.

If he doesn't make the Bayern game he'll be back for the Arsenal game. Fit, rested and firing on all cylinders for the run in.

If it was Rodders or Dias I'd be worried. But it ain't, so we got this.

In all seriousness, we do have enough to beat most teams, but in a busy schedule and more importantly how we've been playing this season it's unlikely we come through that schedule unscathed.

Hopefully just a micro keyhole surgery than a big cut.

Big difference in healing times between the two.

Very little difference between a traditional small appendicectomy wound and keyhole in all honesty.
How inflamed the appendix was may make the biggest difference on recovery.

Such a big blow for us and Phil, it couldn't have happened at a worst time. He was starting to look like his best again.

Id like to see Alvarez take his place, the Mahrez and Grealish combination on the wings lacks penetration and We'll need Bernardo's energy and pressing in midfield vs Pool and Bayern.
