Yep I think it was him smiling, but to be fair we don't know the context.

He was his manager in the Everton youth set up, plus it's Big Dunc that may have been a nervous "please don't kill me laugh" :)

Ha! Yes. Just like when I wrote a match report about a City game on a Facebook page and a fellow Blue accused me of being biased. Of course I'm bloody biased!

Barnsley probably. They're in great form. Wednesday pummelled them last week in the 2nd half and had them pinned back for long periods but they have the resilience in defence and quality on the break.

Up to last night they did but I said earlier on in this thread that there are bound to be twists ............ if Wednesday should win tonight it will be a 9 point gap to Barnsley which is a decent gap with 8 games to go and with there remaining fixtures they should do it ............ just got a feeling that there next two games are huge win them both and I fancy them to see it through :)

I've gone from being quietly confident 10 days ago (and I'm a massive pessimist) to we've blown it and won't get another point for the rest of the season :)

Watched it tonight would have been easy to fold at 2-0 down but at least they battled back to get a draw

Been a poor March for Wednesday results wise after a great run. They need to hold on for next 8 games and avoid the play offs.

Wednesday at least showed some fight in the second half but by Christ do they need Byers and Windass back.

Stockdale to start? I know this is a cruel thing to say about a Wednesday player but he reminds me of a chunky Phil Jagielka.

I still fancy Barnsley to go up mainly for the quality of football they play, their energy but they too could be hitting their rough patch. Their mediocrep start may cost them but I wouldn't back against them in the playoffs.

Know the feeling! I understand and remember feeling similar pessimism when City wobbled in '85 and '89 promotion seasons to the top flight, particularly after hitting top spot. I hope Wednesday remember what got them where they are starting with the defence. You don't go 23 games unbeaten by fluke even if you win a lot of games by the odd goal. Wednesday have to take heart from those two late goals. Lincoln who have drawn 18 games this season will be tough, physical opponents who will defend in depth and try to hit you on the break. Saw them at Rotherham last season and from what I've heard little has changed. Hopefully you can find a way through while remaining tight at the back. All the best, will be looking out for you.

Bizarrely after last night and coming back from 2-0 down I have a feeling we might just do it, this is based on nothing more than blind optimism :)

It's over, we look all over the place.

Even though we have gone back top today, Ipswich & Plymouth won't drop enough points for us to finish ahead of them. The playoffs are all about momentum and with our current form we would most likely get knocked out in the semis. Only saving grace may be a near full strength squad going into them.

23 games unbeaten and we decide to revert to the real Sheffield Wednesday at the business end of the season.

Bolton giving Plymouth a football lesson with Trafford looking imperious and confident in goal in todays hidden final.

Interesting to note that the attendance of around 70,000 was the largest for a football game anywhere worldwide this weekend and a testimony that the English pyramid league system is something to be cherished!

Some great on the floor football played by the winning team with some assured playing out from the back. Pep's legacy to English football that has spread throughout the lower leagues, sadly that will never be properly acknowledged by the media or pundits!

This game followed by the Newcastle v Utd one made for beautiful afternoon viewing on the big screen through the patio doors of my Utd supporting mates sun trap of a deck in the Spring sunshine, wine in hand!

What a good weekend....... just peachy!

Bolton looked full of energy and 4-0 flattered Plymouth, Cosgrove especially was lucky not to see a red card late on.
