USA! USA! USA!
The hot stove is heating up and the Fightin's have laid down the gauntlet on the first day of the winter meetings. Trea Turner for 11 years/$300 million. As crazy as it sounds it's a team-friendly deal with a manageable aav. Now it's time to shore up the rotation and the pen...

Quite like Turner and a good fit.

So far, only Clevinger on a one-year deal to the Southsiders. Is there anything under underwhelmed?

Season starts proper today. Bigger bags at some bases and a pitching clock, so ‘innovations’ and some big names have moved around.

After finishing 81-81 last year, I’d like to think the White Sox can only improve, but nothing I’ve seen in spring training has given me room for much hope.

P.S. Don’t know when the ‘rounders’ season starts in England…

BRaves for me ! Wouldn’t mind the mets going all the way if we can’t tho ? Detest those stinky Astros tho …..

My poor Giants — already shut out today by the Yankees — are a shell of their former selves but we’re kind of used to the boom-bust nature of the club after all these years. Still a good time to see them at hands down the best yard in the nation and listen to them with the best broadcast crew in the sport (and even though I am a Bay Area homer I don’t think many would argue with either notion).

Short term suffering Mets fan since 2008. Hopefully this year can be the Mets year. Unfortunate to lose the best closer in the league in Diaz for the full year, but their rotation is as good as any. If they steer clear of injuries, i think they've got a chance!

Always nice to beat the Scousers of baseball on opening day, although Orioles being typical Orioles nearly blew it in the last 2 innings

Fair few empty seats at Yankees Stadium tonight, obviously their fans been busy in Manhattan today.

Certainly were typical yesterday…
It was! Although they have started well. They have some really good young kids coming though and after years of shit theres real optisim in Baltimore this team can stay together for a few year and challenge for the world series.

AL East is probably the hardest division though

Historically it has been. Be interesting to see how having fewer games against each other affects teams like the Orioles.

Better result for you last night but Tampa have flown out the trap.

What on earth is going on? The Pittsburgh Pirates, who were the third worst team in MLB last year, are now the top team in the National League and second best in the whole MLB. And they've got a series against Tampa Bay this week, who are the only team with a better record.

Treated myself to a BT Sport pass given Id be off for 3 weeks. Been watching alot of baseball. It’s always fun to see the Yankees get spanked.

Mets playing Phillies in London 2024. Fingers crossed get tickets #letsgomets ⚾

Anyone going to London series this weekend. My son coming over from Northern Ireland and we're going both days
