There’s been chatter on social media referring to his improvement since Cancelo left.

It may be coincidental, but it certainly it helps that Cancelo is not occupying his space on the left anymore.

So true. He links up better with Ake than he did with Cancelo. He was superb yesterday. I believe Pep signed him to help maintain control of the ball against stronger opponents, especially in the the CL. I have been concerned that Jack might not step up to Pep's demands but yesterday he showed that he can reach the highest level under the biggest pressure.

Cancelo was the problem, evident from the early days. Refused to go around Jack to open up the space in the middle. Ake at lb might be the long term solution.
