Pep Guardiola - 2022/23

Fucking hell the same hindsight wankers are still going on about Porto. Because we lost then people constantly keep banging on about it, had we won it would never have been a problem. Had we lost against arsenal on Wednesday these know all’s (know more than Pep!) would have been telling us how Pep got it wrong by playing Akanji at left back, or not playing Mahrez against Zinchenko. Pep is the most genius and imaginative manager I have ever seen, at City or anywhere, but even he can’t win every game, so to keep harping on about a lost game from 2 years ago, particularly in the midst of what we are doing and how we are playing at the moment, is really fucking pathetic (and not a little obsessive)
 
Interesting conversation with KdB on American TV straight after the Arsenal match (with Peter Drury). In answer to a question about playing with freedom, Kev hinted that a huge proportion of day to day coaching goes into high press and into playing from goal kicks. Everything in our half is coached, the rest is freedom and finding space. I can well believe that!!

He can do 99 things right but if he makes one mistake, he gets reminded of it for the next 5 years.

If he was at another club it would be different.
 
Would like to see Pep stay if we won the CL and win us the club world cup, would be icing on the cake imo. Also would like to go into a season knowing it's going to be his last season rather than finding out midway like Pellegrini's.

Pep is "overthinking" every single match shows how much obsessive he is on football the guy breathes football and will always focus on football when football season happened, if we as fan only know him as "overthinking" when he lost a match then we as fan really don't know him well.

It simply lost cause telling him to stop "overthinking" because he will do it constantly anyway not giving a single fuck to anyone opinion. Doing it on every single match since he become a manager at Barcelona until present day and beyond in the future when he finally retire hopefully with us many2 years in the future.

Every genius has flaws but even if we f**ed up and won nothing this season, what a ride Pep and the team has given us, it's been magnificent, just when you think things can't get better, it does!

We are witnessing something very special and at our own club, incredible.

It wasn’t even necessarily a mistake, the fact we lost doesn’t mean it was a mistake, it could be that the players didn’t perform, the ref let Rudiger take out kdb etc. Tge fact is that we lost and therefore the mard arses need to blame some. Pep is a genius and I’ll follow him everywhere

I think (hope) that the top people at the club know that we could fall off a cliff when the top people at the club leave, so they'll have plan that is already in play for each of the top people at the club.

Pep is phenomenal but he is just one of the top men at the club.

I wasn't referring to any particular game, just in general

Gonna be a long time before KAM vacates the Chariman's chair, I would imagine, and I'm sure he will ensure that our management team (on and off the pitch) remains excellent.

Whoever replaces him will be a downgrade but he will be the first to tell you how important the players are. If we keep recruiting the kinds of players we have, a top manager who fits the City profile, can do well.

I hope Pep stays for many more years. At one time I saw having Pep as manager as just a dream but when it started to become a possibility there was no one else that I wanted in the job.

I don't know to be honest who else besides Pep, Txiki and Soriano are pulling the strings to well. I hope the club ensure that there's succession plans on top of succession plans.

It might be their biggest challenge since coming to the club.

I'm sure that they will have succession plans. From a footballing perspective, Txiki and Pep are key but the template is in place of how we want to play and it runs through the whole footballing side.

What Pep is leading is literally a change in the DNA of the club and that impact will I think prevail long after he is gone. We now have a very clear City way of doing things and anyone recruited will need to fit the mould.
