Pep Guardiola - 2022/23

I thought the performance was fine in the first half. Tighter finishing from Rodri & Grealish and their shots hit the post and go in. Suddenly it's 2-0 at half-time and everyone remarks how calm we've been. I think in the second half we just did our usual but maybe 5% faster, which got us that free-kick Ake scored from. Then we let West Ham play their way into trouble for a bit and nicked the ball for Haaland's 2-0 goal. Plain sailing from there til the end.

Fairplay....but i thought we looked rudderless and lethargic, the atmosphere in the ground didnt help either,a distinct lack of passion and enthusiasm,it was like a library..... the players needed the crowd and the crowd needed the players, yet neither were providing the spark.

Anyway, the 2nd half was so much better all round, and more than made up for the frustrating first IMO.

Too much talk on penalty from Pep.
We have a momentum and those things he can discuss in the locker room. No need to involve press.

Keep it Pep. Keep the nervs.
I thought the same thing when he put the spotlight on KDB and look at how that turned out. There is a purpose behind everything he does/says.

The entertainment value of his pressers nowadays is off the charts.

Does this mean he's staying?

"I reviewed the games over the last two days and we couldn’t have played better in the home leg. Last season was the end of the world and we’re back. One day we will reach the final again and one day we will win it.’

Hope so!

He's saying all the right things at the moment and he's made some big calls resting players and rotating when there's so much at stake in every game. We're going to need to concentrate and show so much energy against Real Madrid if we're to win. It's not about revenge, Liverpool tried that one and look where it got them. It's a new game and a new challenge. We beat them in both legs in the quarters the year before last so 3 times in 4 but last season was gutting. It's not about getting revenge for that, it's about learning from it. They're never beaten so we need to take our chances and defend a lot better. Pep's going to get the job done this time around I'm sure.

Ive made my feelings well known about the Chelsea Final, but i wouldnt want another man leading us into battle tonight.
