Mental health hub, very appropriate, hope it's big enough!

I still have sleepless nights from the FA Cup quarter Final there in the 80s, Power equalised late on and after the game was utter carnage and mayhem.
I remember that evening well, was an eventful one to say the least !

How will you feel about leaving the old place? A lot of City fans still think of Maine Road as our spiritual home. Me included. But let's be honest, the place was a mess at the end. 4 unmatched stands, not a big capacity, and no real room around it for extending (hemmed in all around by housing and that school behind the Kippax). The move was necessary. And Goodison is in the same boat. It's an atmospheric ground, but it's a tip.

We had brilliant floodlights at Maine Road, though!
I will miss Goodison. My dad first took me there in 1974. I idolised Bobby Latchford. I saw the great team of the 80s there. I have had to endure the very close relegation battles as well. Some great games I have seen there and some bad ones as well. My highlight will always be the Bayern Munich semi-final, it was unreal, I have never know the ground to erupt the way it did that special night. Oh! and beating our neighbours was always good. My brothers and my sister went to Goodison, as did my aunts and uncles, my cousins, and my lovely dad who is no longer here. My grandad went there and family stories tell of older relations who supported us. So it will be sad to leave the old lady. But we have the memories. The ground is old and however sad it will be to leave, we need to do so. As already stated the new ground will grow on us in time.

I know it’s only a promotional CGI video but if it accurately reflects the new stadium it will be superb.

Will make your neighbours shithole look even worse however many new stands they graft on to it.

I can imagine. Electricity generators can cause havoc if the power isn't equalised.

Cheers Matey

I think us and City fans are pretty similar if I am honest. Deffo with having nasty horrible red neighbours ha ha

I won't wish you well for the next game, but hopefully you win the league and we stay up.

PS Good result against Madrid the other night. Go finish the job. I will be cheering your lads on.

Well that avenged the draw at our place. :-)

Bit strange some of your subs today I thought which looked more like damage limitation subs than anything else. Anyway, now this game’s out of the way we can all wish you all the best for the next two games. Hope you manage to do it - we all want Leeds down as I’m sure all 19 other Premier League clubs do.

Think from HT onwards they were protecting their goal difference.

I’ve no problem with Everton and not bothered about them staying up if they do. However I think they would probably come straight back up and their fans would have a good season for once instead of what they are watching every season if they do go down.

I remember this when we beat Liverpool to the league and they were coming back from an away game.
