I remember my son blabbing on about some modern footballer being hard, I started laughing and showed him a compilation of Souness. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Top top player as well.

Saw him on the news before when he broke down. Great thing he is doing.

There was a channel 4 documentary on years ago about a fella from northumbria who suffered from the same thing. Sadly passed away in 2003, but his story was heartwarming. So very cruel this disease.

I became aware of ‘DEBRA (EB) about 30 years ago when my wife was invited to a charity event, basically they invited anyone called Deborah and all the spellings associated with the name (Debbie, Debra etc etc), it was just to show what the disease was about, educating people and raising awareness, and hopefully get some donations.

Now we read a bit about it to get an idea of what it was, but really didn’t fully get just how horrible and severe this got for many people, it was truly horrific and unimaginable to have to live your life with it, even writing that, l’m still not sure I’ve given the sufferers justice.

So well done Graeme and hope you raise a ton of money for it.

A friend of our family ex 1st division player from the 60's was due to have a triple heart by pass surgery. I dont know how Souness knew about it but I know he got in touch with our friend and gave him reassurance at it etc.
