Yep. A bit like when Villa fans were denying Delph was leaving them (the 2nd time) despite being pictured outside the hospital awaiting his medical.
It’s obvious Bellingham will go to Madrid now (barring a dramatic change) and people are denying it in the same way. Obviously I hope that change happens, but right now as it stands, he’s clearly not coming to City.

I think Tolmie deserves a lot more respect than he gets. He’s obviously very well connected at City and this Bellingham to Madrid story is very similar to Haaland last summer. He may have agreed terms with Madrid, but he may not have said no to City and we are waiting if Madrid cough up the money.Yep. It’s obvious Bellingham will go to Madrid now (barring a dramatic change) and people are denying it in the same way. Obviously I hope that change happens, but right now as it stands, he’s clearly not coming to City.
It’s not that clear cut. Unfortunately Bellingham preferring Madrid and just waiting to agree a fee and Madrid posturing to get City to drop out of the race both look the same from the outside. If Bellingham had told City he wants Madrid, we would have briefed that we’re no longer interested.
My own take is that Bellingham has agreed terms with both Madrid and ourselves and will go to either, probably preferring Madrid. We know Madrid won’t pay full price so we’re waiting until either Bellingham says Madrid or bust or Madrid give up due to price and we pounce.
Our problem is that Madrid will be happy to drag this out, we’ll need to replace Bernardo and can’t afford to have missed out on Bellingham alternatives.
I don’t know how happy Madrid will be to wait this out considering who they’re allegedly going after. It’s going to take a lot of cash and time and they can’t afford to let this drag out and miss on their targets. We seem to have most of our business done so we can stall a bitIt’s not that clear cut. Literally the only sources acting like it is done are Romano and Madrid Zome. Personally, I’ll wait for a credible journalist to say we are out before I give up hope. The Northern football correspondent for the Telegraph said just yesterday he doesn’t think it is a dime deal yet.

We don't need to say anything at this stage.
For all we know, the Bellingham ship has sailed but it is convenient for us to use that still to move on someone else with little fuss!
