Champions League Final | Useful Information

Anyone know the script with bags, I know it says nothing bigger than a4 paper..... but on the map it says there's a bag deposit zone. Does anyone know if you can leave backpacks here it doesn't say anything else on the info I've read.

Also does anyone sort of pick up that these UEFA buses will be faster and have lanes blocked off just for running people to the stadium? They make it sound like they would be faster than a taxi and that seems like the only logical way.

Don’t fancy standing for 45 minutes on the bus. At least in a taxi you’re guaranteed a seat. In Porto I had to stand on the bus as all the seats were taken. Thankfully I got a seat in Naples. That journey around Naples to the ground was about 45 minutes.

Please see some useful information below from our friends at Fans Europe. 1894 have been in conversation with them to ensure City fans are treated well in Istanbul.

Let me know if there are any questions.

CIGARETTES / E-CIGS
We can confirm that cigarettes/electronic cigarettes won’t be allowed into the stadium but are allowed in the Fan Zones. Smoking is permitted in the Fan Zones. E-cigarettes are also allowed.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT MD -1
On June 9 there will be a dedicated shuttle from Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) to Taksim square, it will operate from 6:00 to midnight. As well, metro and shuttles will operate from the stadium until all the spectators leave (until 2:00-3:00 in the morning). On other days regular public transport or taxi can be used.

SHUTTLES CITY (Taksim) - STADIUM
As agreed with MCFC official reps, Man City supporters are encouraged to use dedicated shuttles from Yenikapi, not the metro.
Man City fans could get a metro or shuttle from Taksim though, but they will have a 30 minute walk around the outer perimeter which means they will actually be quicker and have less walking in the heat if they get a metro to their shuttle pick and got on their own shuttles.

ACCESSIBILITY
All shuttle buses to transport supporters between airports, City Centre transport hubs and Fan Zones are accessible (low floor). As well, there will be a separate accessible shuttle, which will run from P25/Fan Zone to the stadium entrance.

SUN CREAM
‘Travel size’ sun cream will be permitted in the Fan Zone’s and within the Stadium. Anything bigger than this, in the hard bottles, will not be permitted.

WATER
Bottles of water will not be permitted. Water is priced very reasonably within the Fan Zone’s and within the Stadium. Water will also be stored in the medical areas.

ULTRA
The word ‘ultra’ will be allowed on t shirts, scarves, and other items.

PUBLIC VIEWING
The location for public viewing of the match will be at Yenikapi. The Police confirmed both sets of supporters will be welcomed there and there will be a segregation plan in place.

Hope that´s helpful.

As always M33 it’s very helpful. Thanks for your efforts.

I’m definitely wearing my 1998 Ultra Nate “Everybody’s Free” T shirt now !

Any news on shuttle after the game back to taksim square?

I know there is a shuttle back to yenikapi but ideally don't want to be getting a metro from there to taksim on my own and end up going the wrong way.

Will there be shuttles back to Taksim after the game, any ideas?

thanks for the information . are there shuttles from airport to stadium on match day 10/06?

this makes it sounds like you just need an ID of some sort and it's more for local police to check if they ask vs a UEFA thing

also some good info if you get arrested

airplane-turkish-prison.gif

Compulsory not obligatory - before you travel watch midnight express !

This is my concern too, though the email specifically states ''original'' copy of passport is required at the stadium.
Can't imagine them checking tens of thousands of passports, but equally don't wanna get caught out by some jobsworth.

Bit of a dilemma.
Doesn't it say original ID would have thought driving licence would do.

Anyone’s flying to saw and sussed out transportation to Istanbul centre
We arrive on the morning and I read there were free shuttle buses from saw to centre or straight to ground, didn’t have any further details though, think we will just wing it on the day. Arrive 10am so plenty of time

Probably too early to head straight to the stadium

I’m aiming to get to the stadium for about 6pm. Spend a couple of hours in the fan zone. Not sure what time I need to catch the shuttle bus. Dont know what traffic to the stadium will be like at that time, or what the queue to catch the shuttle bus will be like. An hour for the journey should be enough?

shuttle bus (HAVABUS) every half hour, but it takes a little while to get into the centre, 90 mins? 50/60 lira.

public bus. 10 lira, takes a long time

taxi, private car, shared shuttle etc. Maybe see if you can find a few blues and jump in a taxi? think i read 250-300 lira but could be anything i guess.
