'Obscene'

We have only breached 50m on an individual signing once in the past 4 years and that was Ben White. Ever since the Pepe failure we havent gone big on a solitary signing.

How can it be obscene when a 100m signing has been done by both yourselves and Chelsea?
Our 100m signing has won 2 leagues an FA cup and a champions league think he was worth it mste. Can't say the same about a lot of your signings

Why did Aguero join you in 2011 then? No one else was after him? You keep your existing good players and keep adding quality.

We already have quality existing players. Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, Saliba, now it looks like were throwing Rice into the fray.

I keep saying it, if the top players only ever joined the existing winners, how did you go past Man United? What were you guys up to in the 1990's and 2000's?
You do know how this works, right? Rice doesn't have the chance to speak to City because we haven't put a bid in. And we haven't put a bid in, possibly because West Ham want more money than we're willing to pay or because Arsenal value him higher (or maybe we're not interested at all and don't think he'd fit into our system). What people are saying is if we matched Arsenal's bid and gave the player a straight choice, he'd pick us every time, because we're his best chance of silverware. Similarly, if Barcelona had matched our offer for Aguero in 2011, he probably wouldn't have become a City player. But they didn't, so he was.

it’s not what he wants to hear though, so you can’t be right

That WHU ex employee who everyone seems to think is reliable is saying City v interested in Rice.
Possibly but surely someone leaves first, or City have indication of someone going.

We might be interested, but would we pay over £100m for him? We've walked away from plenty of deals because of the price in the past.
