Some people got it really bad, young mothers with toddlers both glued to them. It's getting nuts out there

It’s crazy alright. I feel for the young generations they are glued to them. Don’t even look up to see what’s in front of them as they walk down the street.

Parents have a lot to answer for, just back from a holiday in France and looks to me like many just use them as a tool to occupy their children. Really young kids stuck to phones. I’ve a 5 year old and the only time I let her near one is to have a look at the odd photo.

I was sitting in a pub on my own once and reading a book on my Kindle app. This old Irish man stood a metre or so away from me and roared “Those things should be banned from fucking pubs.”

Would he have done the same if it had been a physical book or a paper? I was speechless.

You should have twatted the ****

Can't believe the amount of people who use them on a nice walk in nature..thank fuck I'm of a certain age

I knew of him. Just one of those old bastards who hates everything and everyone.

It’s part of the reason I choose pubs very carefully. Too many are full to the brim of divorced men with no mates.

I can kind of see where he's coming from in a wierd way. Someone in a pub reading a book seems more sociable to me that someone doing the exact same thing but on a kindle. My mrs reads loads on her kindle and to me it seems a bit 'cold' whereas the book just seems so much more acceptable. I am, howewer, an old twat with old school values.

Ah, you know what these Irish are like. They'd start a row in an empty phone box.

I'm not too bad, I put it down every now and then and use the tablet or the laptop instead.

Actually need a new tablet, smashed the fucker when the rags got that penalty.

Took me a while to get used to ebooks but I'd never go back to paper now, far too handy being able to carry around hundreds of books in your pocket and access them off any device.

I use both. E-book for a long journey, a proper book for a pub or garden snooze. Nothing finer in my opinion. As for mobile phones...I carry it if I'm out and about but at home I usually have no idea where it is. Annoys the Wife no end. Plus I'm usually a few hours behind any conversations on it. The missus is one of those ladies who answers everything within seconds of it going off. Mines on silent.

Attending a football match and seeing people around you watching the same game live through a screen via their phones makes me lol. Same for live concerts.

Even worse are those fans that film themselves celebrating- it’s embarrassing and puts me off going.
Concerts are ruined nowadays with everyone standing there and filming constantly.
