What is the weather like is it most of the day? Because yesterday we only bowled 36 overs all day with the weather! You never set a target to what the weather will be tomorrow because it might not rain at all
Haven't got a clue, I was going on what others were saying earlier, that there may be rain around tomorrow. Hence why I said iffy, rather than bad. But let's say it doesn't rain; what lead would we need to avoid defeat?

These are the wickets you can't help but feel really disappointed with despite all the success of Bazball.

Lunch 15mins away, you're struggling to keep the runs coming...but just see it through, reset and let the bowlers fatigue before going for it again in the afternoon session.

Lyon was smart there, kept pushing it through and was waiting for the mistake and we obliged.

Now we're into a crucial partnership. Stokes and Bairstow and we're done. That 250-300 lead we'd want could easily be 200 which will be snapped up by Australia.

Yep, we need to get a grip of this now. I think Stokes is long overdue a big score and we need to be looking at a 300+ lead I reckon as we don't have the spinners to exploit Australia. 300 lead looks a long way off at the moment mind you

Fuck. In huge trouble here.

Edit. Thank fuck for that! How was that missing?! Stay in until lunch lads!

Considering the situation, common sense would say 0-0 is better than leaving at 0-1 pushing too hard for a 1-0.

It’s a long summer and with the way we have thrown wickets away it’s a bit crazy to not be playing a bit more sensibly.

Ausies are on top here.

Let's see how we go about the afternoon session. We need to put 50 runs on the score for no loss to wrestle this back the other way.

If we had used the same theory over the last 13 tests, we wouldn't have won 11 of them . It's the way we play now

Need another 100 minimum, ideally 150.

IF Stokes & Bairstow get in then we could be declaring by Tea...

With one eye on the weather and the forecast of rain tomorrow, one can't help think that England's approach today has been foolhardy. Australia shouldn't be in a strong position to win here, yet if this session sees England out for under 250, then there's likely to be sufficient good weather to see them home. Big couple of hours.

Steady as she goes from here on. We're not in a position to "bazball" our way to a glorious victory. Try to get to tea without losing any further wickets. Then reassess the situation.
