Australia’s tail has a habit of wagging…we could really do with getting Boland out within the first couple of overs tomorrow. Despite looking like Chris Martin (ex NZ quick, not the Coldplay frontman) prior to this innings, he’s already managed to score 13 valuable runs.

I expect Khawaja will try to play anchor, with Head, Green and Carey playing more aggressively.

i think that 20 or 30 runs we passed up with the early declaration might come back to bite us

Lyon has taken 8 wickets in this Test but the vast majority have been the result of poor shot selection by the batsmen. Ali and Root might only have to keep things tight and allow the England seamers to push for the wickets. The Australians look as bewildered as ever by a little lateral movement off a length, so England need to be brave and pitch it up.
